I have done a 2.75 ew lucky on this lot as he is flying, i wish i had posted yesterdays - apologies but was working away from office, he nailed a big treble..i missed the lot
Newmarket 14:10 - Street Duel (MJ) - 6/1 - Stable won the race last year, so this this expensive colt must have a solid chance at one of HQs lesser meets, and he was entered for the Chesham.
Ascot 14:30 - Tonkinese - 4/1 - Distance winner 2nd time out on fast ground, will be unlucky not to be at least placed, when you consider his initial run behind Aiden's Air Force Blue who subsequently ran MJ's Buratino to 2ls earlier in the week.
Ascot 15:05 - Niceofyoutotellme - 14/1 - If his 3ls 3rd behind Western Hymn in the Grp3 Brigadier Stakes is to believed, who then run 3ls 3rd to Free Eagle with unlucky The Grey Gatsby2nd in the Grp1 Price of Wales, then he looks thrown in. 4th that day was Eagle Top and he is 3rd fav for the Grp2 Hardwicke. MJ's Sennockian Star who is 4lb better in for last year's 4th, has a poor draw, so you will soon know your fate.
Ascot 17:35 - Oriental Fox - 8/1 (MJ) - The 7yo is the only horse above 5yo in the stable, and I have been wondering when he would be running. A grand stayer who contested the Gold Cup last year and is now dropped in grade. As Johnston is adept at getting them ready to run first time out expect a good run. Especially as many of these are unlikely to get the trip. __________________ Have Fun, Bob
Yesterday:
Goodwood 19:50 - Notarised (MJ) - 14/1 - First time out, early April, 12f class 2 hcp, on the poly, under 3ls 5th to Trip To Paris at levels, Gold Cup Winner, improved 19lbs since. 3 races later won valuable class 2 York getting on top close home on GF. Next time out at HQs down the field behind stable mate Watersmeet. Now back to one of Johnston's favourite course, in a class 3, and over another 2f, with Joe on board, surely a trier. Favourite William of Orange appears to favour ground with give, so could be false. Chance of rain mid-day but should have dried out in time.
Goodwood 20:25 - Enlace (MJ) - 2/1 - Class 2 CD winner 3 races ago, now back amongst her own age group, in a fillies only, plum draw, and down a class, says it all.
Ascot 17:00 - Arab Dawn - 7/1 - Looks to have every chance, with the expected improvement from his first run in a class 2 hcp at HQs, besides a few lbs difference, against the winnerAstronereus, and the 4th The MJ inmate Watersmeet cannot be left out entirely out of calculations, as it looked as if he threw that race away, when swerving across the track, and he has won since in a fast time. __________________ Have Fun, Bob
