Interesting that the winner was stone last in that Eltezam maiden at Haydock, Dark Defender has won from it and Shadow Game also ran well at kempton, all well beaten

The winner and maybe even more so, the Hamdan horse Elronaq who was second could be worth following.

He walked past Eltezam on debut like he was standing still. I backed Eltezam in the Coventry on the strength of the maiden and he ran 3rd after sweating badly.

Ill be very surprised if Elronaq isnt running a 2yo Group races and it was going to take something very smart to even give him a race tonight on debut.

I was basically saying a relatively unfancied outsider was a default winner of a G2 at Royal Ascot and I wasnt far off, only Balios got anywhere near him in the race but unfortunately that was the only mistake I made in my assessment. I disregarded the dam side of Balios because he was by Shamardal who had previously only 1 significant winner at 1m4, Baltic Baroness from handy in a slowly run Vermille, which made it all the more annoying not to collect. That 12/1 was an absolute glitch and I knew it, I also thought Doyle was overly aggressive and could maybe have won the race with a different ride. Id back Mr Singh to beat Balios if they run against each other again at 1m4.
