king of rooks beat buratino 5 lengths level weights
log out island beat burantino 5.5 lengths (buaratino conceding 4 lbs)
burantino was beaten first by log out island and has prob improved a bit scince, also came out the stalls a bit right handed.
King of Rooks more battle hardened with 3 runs, but log out island could improve again.
Tricky race, but I think king of rooks with the power offer money back as a free bet if 2nd or 3rd as a free bet. Only £50 max though.

Thursday and no race has us licking our lips more than the opening Norfolk Stakes, in which we are represented by both King of Rooks and Log Out Island, both of whom have already put yesterday's impressive Coventry Stakes winner Buratino in his place.
Hannon said:"We think they are two smart two-year-olds, and I would not like to hazard a guess as to which is the better. They are the two top-rated colts in the race, they are drawn next to each and we can't split them, so we'd happily settle for a dead-heat.
"Obviously, Buratino has given the form a timely boost. Log Out Island beat him five and a half lengths on his debut at Ascot and King of Rooks five lengths when he bolted up in the National Stakes at Sandown. The latter was probably the stronger race, with Steady Place (third) having run well in yesterday's Windsor Castle, but all I know that both ours have plenty of speed and I just hope we are standing in the winner's circle with at least one of them.

KoR's had some advantages at Sandown and Buratino had a few disadvantages as did Handytalk. Buratino also messed up the start agaisnt LoI. Both were decisive winners one with experience the othe learning as he went in a conditions event.

I meant buratino messed up the start against log out island, he was much better away against king of rooks.
the race king of rooks won looks much stronger with steady pace and areen also running well earlier in the week.

maleuk01. Yes I agree about the quality of the 2 races. Buratino was also wide and at Sandown that is a big disadvantage. That all said KoR's got them off the bridle while still going easily and went away with ease. LoI got a very hi (for a first time out) topspeed and is open to huge improvment you'd think. Form says KoR's I agree but nearly got burned today when I wrote of Sir Isaac as he looked green in winning his 3rd race. (would surely have won with clear passage)>

Ajaya ran v well with the 3rd having form with orvar and staedy pace. If the winner of that race were in here I'd be ,ore interested (Dhahmaan). The hills one :Ihad him in my bets the day he won cos I knew his form but I don't think he's up to the definite form of the Hannon 2.

Not really. Who would have thought Integral would have been unplaced today? Same with Ivawood. Nothing is certain. I just think that the second fav may be an outstanding horse.

Can't help but feel Hannon has had no other option than to put Log Out Island in this race. His comments after the debut win suggested he would be upped to 6f for the Coventry, however with Round Two and Buratino both Godolphin owned and no intended runner in the Norfolk Stakes that's why he's here.
Hannon on Log Out Island after debut - "He is a lovely colt and is the first two-year-old we have really liked. He will go for something like the National Stakes, then come back for Royal Ascot - for which race I do not know. He has certainly shown up well at home and he will improve for that. It looks like six furlongs won't be a problem."
Hughes on King of Rooks - "King Of Rooks had a good draw and I got a soft lead in front, but when Steady Place did throw down a challenge my fellow went again," Hughes said. "You need to stay well to win at Royal Ascot, and he has both speed and stamina - everything you want for a Norfolk horse."

I should also have added that when asked about his intended Royal Ascot runners on ATR last week his exact words were "Log Out Island is our Coventry horse".
