Charles St George , Lord Howard De Walden, Khalid Abdullah and Stavros Niarchos all loyal owners who stuck with him and I'm glad the Royal family are getting their backside pasted year in and year out by the the Irish boys who have forgotten more than the Sheikh knows. Posy - tthen-Mrs Cecil (Natalie) sounded off to the press about disagreeing with Godolphin's over-wintering in Dubai policy.  Sheikh Mo wasn't happy.  HRAC apparently wanted to run MoE in the Royal Lodge but Sheikh Mo removed him as the latest in the Godolphin experiment.  Sheikh Mo then claimed MoE had a knee problem he hadn't been told about and got shirty about not being kept involved/being painted as a baddie when the horse wasn't sound enough to run anyway (the yard denied any such problem/injury).  All Sheikh Mo horses then removed - first the yard knew was a fleet of horseboxes turning up to take them away while HRAC was at Goffs.

I was told by someone who worked at Warren Place and now writes for a racing paper, that Henry said the arabs would never be allowed to buy the yard.Whether that still applies I dont know.

The sheikh was always looking to remove all henrys stock , MOS was a convenient excuse to press ahead because he knew all along Sir henry would never allow him to interfere

I do believe the sheikh was fond him but he knew full well sir henry was not a yes man , I wonder often what they would have continued to do together and what the breeding empire would be like now

poetic justice that sir henry went on to train worlds best ever horse , while godolphin is looked upon as a failure considering the cash poured into it , reduced to buying other breeders good horses just before big races

As a young man just starting off in this game, me like many saw Henry as a hero, i would drive 45 miles to watch the horses on the gallops, then drive up warren hill just to look at the house and the yard.

It was like charlies choc factory disneyland  pam andersons bedroom all rolled into one

As time has moved on , i was lucky enough to have my daughter move onto the yards bungalow, sadly she had to move out on Henrys passing because Ed Walker needed the bungalow

I am an extreamly lucky person that in the last year of Henrys life i had the pleasure of briefly meeting him before cancer took its terrable toll on him, we had the freedom of the yard.

I had to pinch myself everytime i drove through the gates that i was actually on the yard . . The buzz of evening stables ect it was mind blowing, im just extreamly grateful i was given that chance.

Shiek mo may well buy the land but he wont ever be able to buy the legend that was HRAC And the magic of the yard.
