best ever for books.hope pontefract didn't dilute what could already be a small crowd. Would love to see Yorkshire tracks get together and run a midweek "ITS A TENNER " promotion.not festival but ordinary meetings.

Ponty not very busy but not many of joe public would choose a Monday night to go out
Not much chance of any sort of '£10 pay at the gate' offers I'm afraid, the managements prefer to add one or two on at the other end these days. Or in the case of Musselburgh, let's make it £20 instead of £15 - and that's for the 'off' meetings
£30 last Sat & I understand it is £35 for Ladies Day this Sat (sold out)

I understand the Rlyl organisation are to be investigated under the competition act for having more than 20% of the pitches yesterday!
Funny how you get the odd day where a fancied horse can't win for love nor money (just seen the first jolly get carried out by a 100/1 shot)but no doubt things will revert to type next week for "the week from hell in the north",can't remember ever winning next Tuesday at Thirsk.
While the usual suspects will no doubt be looking at far healthier exchange accounts after yesterdays results and good luck to them Thirsk this year have put on 3 "new" meetings which have and will be sparsely attended,can't blame them as they are obviously racing when the off course want them to and therefore better financially for them its another nail in the midweek coffin.
The next ones 2 weeks on Wednesday replaces a Tuesday evening meeting which while never great was no doubt a lot better than the new day will be although the good news is that with no Ponty to take the books away Rlyl should be ok this time under the competition act.
I didn't think Ponty was that bad last night btw but wtf happening at Chester on Saturday? 3.05 start and a 6.35 finish!

chester was the same last year for this fixture it make the last two races not very good.

Just received my self inking stamp!Am I missing something here?Does an 18-21 year old lad/girl fancy a day out at the races so that they can have their "age verified" stamped on their hand by their friendly on course bookmaker?

have the gambling commission found any good ideas about sorting out the pitch renting that still goes on ?

surely our friend from ruk could check the ages of the punters rather than arsing about in the betting ring 
So lets say you're a 20 year old lad with your 18 year old girl friend who decide to have a day at York followed buy a night out with friends,so you've both got your best tackle on but before you can have a few bets you need to be stamped which presumably will stay on all day,sounds great and I bet they can't wait to show their friends at night!
do the gc make any effort in checking the age of the people the unlicensed layers are laying to ?
I presume ribero you have to hold the hand of the person your stamping is there not other implications there in this day and age ?
The really good news is that your first stamp is free but additional stamps will be provided for £12 including p&p.
that's great news £12 seems a bargin especially as it includes p/p as I really do feel our exis are nowhere near as much as they should be in particular the tremendous value we get from the gambling commission,
in fact come to think of it where on earth would we all be without the guidance of the gc ?
I think the late start at Chester last year was so the public could stay on to watch a World Cup match kicking off @ 7pm, don't know what the thinking is this year.
