Interview worse than pulling teeth. Even walked away from accepting an award. There are no excuses for him.

Just rude

Of course he's not rude. Some of the best sportsmen are perceived as arrogant and aloof and that's the way it should be. It separates them from the ordinary underachievers.

No , he isn't shy !

Not sure his perceived arrogance and aloofness is what separates him from underachievers but that's obviously his personality, if that's the right word, and he shouldn't receive any criticism because of it. His job is to ride horses, not deliver soundbites.

So if you're top of your game it's expected/ anticipated ( even applauded?) that you will be arrogant and aloof.?

Utter nonsense

My boss told his second in command to not go out into the office and talk to us plebs.  Keep the plebs at a distance.
But in Ryan Moore's case I think he has important work to do today and tomorrow and has to concentrate on the job.
Some would like him to tell jokes, judge the best dressed lady competition, and tell a few yarns about the fun jockeys have in the changing room.

No, just be civil.
