they only worry about refunds to paying customers. Cattermole says they can't abandon until the 3rd race, I wonder why? Surely if the jockeys say unsafe then it is unsafe. They put their lives on the line and by not weighing out forego riding fees.I suppose the worst aspect of safety the stewards have to contend with is whether the cream for the strawberries is fresh is past its best before date.

that's not what he meant koi, he was saying they would delay the first race and wouldn't abandon until 3.10pm the time of the 3rd race

he wasn't saying they would run 2 and abandon although there's no doubt that could happen

I think No koi but somebody posted different several weeks back saying racegoers can apply for tickets to upcoming meetings. I recall that after two/three races a meeting is said to have been run and no refunds required. Perhaps customer service has improved? Bar prices, food quality/prices perhaps not.

brightons refund policy is;

Abandonment before completion of the first race - badge valid for another race meeting or full refund;
Abandonment before completion of the third race - 50% refund;
Abandonment thereafter - no refund.
