As previously posted, I am a great fan of his, and have been since he was about 15!!. I don't actually think he hits horses that hard and I certainly do not think he gets horses unbalanced because of his whip action. However his whip arm is often above shoulder height and therefore contrary to the whip rules.

Not sure how you can mark a horse with a piece of rubber foam..
