Half the field didn't try, there's another five months worth of good prizes for todays participants to win.

apparently horse returned with a dirty scope.

so rather than not trying to win it looks like the horse was ill.

maybe next time think before you post or give it a couple of days?

Yes fair enough, I'm sure everyone is suitably chastened by your ticking off.

Wouldn't the stable have known before the race?

If they had known that they wouldn't have run.

I appreciate not everyone will have seen the RTE coverage which is unfortunate, as both TH (Gordon LB) & EL (Sole Power) said prerace that their charges would be much better for the runs and that the run would bring them forward, both stated they had left plenty to work on with more important targets in mind

swift-just pointing out rather than have starting a thread with innuendo about connections intentions+motives better to get facts.

It's part of the game, we all back horses that, in hindsight, we're not aimed to win a particular race. Quote from the stable on Saturday morning was, "he's been working well without being taken out of his comfort zone." I didn't expect him to be kept inside his comfort-zone during the race, as he seemed to have the ability to win it. My mistake.
