As i went through the runners last night noticed Thackeray priced up at 10/1, thought that seems fair as this race seems to have a lot of horses that are better over a shorter distance, but as i knew i would be in around race time i left it, see its 4/1-5/1 now, oh well Thats Life!
if you thought 10/1 was 'fair' then surely 4/1 is a dead cert lay ? you're not allowed to feel like you've missed out when you didn't evaluate it as being overpriced last nyt ;)

Didn't say i thought it was overpriced, just a fair price, suprised to see it went as low as 4/1. I'm not really a layer anyway, but why on earth would i think it's a "dead cert lay" at 4/1 if i thought it had a good chance!

If you're making a book and can get a 10/1 shot in at 4/1 then i'd agree with you, but if you fancy a horse at 10/1 and weight of money has shortened it up to 4/1 then i wouldn't back it as have missed the price and the value. If i then layed just that one horse and it won then how brassed off would i be!
