The jockey on the 2nd seemed slow to go for his whip there and had a nice lead inside the final furlong or so, yet seemed to wait until the winner was upsides before using it, when a slap or two when having that lead might have helped him retain it.

I have only watched the race once though when live but that's the initial impression I got anyway.
