Yeah, it was Mick, have a feeling might have been the 1st northern trained horse to win the race.

i thought it was Peter as well but wasnt sure, so was the one in 1981 another one ?

76 Triumph Hurdle Peterhof shows nearly everywhere as trained by M W (Mick) Easterby not M(iles) H (Peter) Easterby. Can't find much about the Obrien 1981 F/Childers horse of the same name.
Report blackbarn May 5, 2015 10:59 PM BST
Definitely different horses - hard for a 1976 4yo to be a 1981 2yoCool
Report the dealer May 5, 2015 11:00 PM BST
thats true lol hadnt realised this was the third one
Report the dealer May 5, 2015 11:01 PM BST

Report ekbalko May 5, 2015 11:03 PM BST
Peterhof was certainly not a 2yo in 81 I think he won 76 Triumph.
Report Cork Langer May 5, 2015 11:05 PM BST
70's Peterhof was trained by Mick W.Easterby and I believe owned by the Snailwell Stud, the early 80's was the US bred Peterhof owned by Robert Sangster and trained by VOB out of The Minstrel/Millicent
Report the dealer May 5, 2015 11:05 PM BST
ekbalko it appears there was another one in the 80's according to qs

My friend nearly bought Peterhof but declined,he was offered him by Mick who got him off John Oxley,Mick had his card marked by Oxley's head lad who told him Oxley who was very ill at the time had understandably lost the plot and Peterhof was a lot better than he showed for him and needless to say Mick got him cheap,my pal bought another horse which never won a race but obviously followed Peterhof and after it got beat in the Adonis by one of Ryan Price's I think Mick assured him it would reverse the form on the stiff track at Cheltenham.
Peterhof beat Monksfield in the Triumph and then had to survive a stewards enquiry,Peterhof was owned by Henry Gould a well known big punter from the midlands who loved a skinny one.
