morning forum, just a few ideas to muse about for todays racing along with my bets and potential lays.i am a devotee of jumps racing and hopefully a reasonable judge.i will always try and back up my views with reasoning here goes.
WARWICK 2.55: the one of interest here is baroque man from the all conquering mullholland stable. Totally unexposed as a chaser he is from a family the stable know well,out of barton may and closely related to midnight chase who was a late maturing chaser who didnt spark into gear until he was 8.the same age as baroque man.his first run was promising in a better grade jumping newbury well although a touch keen, dropped in grade today over a trip he is bred for and a red hot stable he is worth a poke at 5-1.
KEMPTON 4.20: a 6 horse kempton chase over 2m4 not the best kempton chase ever but there are 2 i like against the field,i always like to find a favourite worth taking on and fond memory could be it,3rd last time at uttoxeter he has some strong form but kempton is a track hat takes some jumping and with young jamie bargarry having not ridden a winner at the track and still learning the ropes his inexperience could catch him out on a horse that needs a fineese ride.RHAPANDO is my first selection at about 4-1 he jumped out to the right at newbury last time on ground softer than he likes but his run at leicester was extremely strong with cloud creeper winner twice since and he coming well clear of winners since in behind. its strong form and was his only run r-handed over fences.also tom o brien hasnt ridden this horse before but that is a good stat as obrien has a fantastic record riding horses for the first time.my 2nd bet is KITEGEN at about 7-1 his case is a little more deeper, a course winner of a 3lb higher mark last year his best form has come of a break and he returns of a 117 day break his best form is in a higher grade and as kempton favours track specialists he has a win and a place in 2 runs both over an inadequate 2 miles .if he is fit and ready he is a player.
REST OF DAY : warwick has a decent handicap where my 2 against the field are DRUMSHAMBO and NO BUTS, drumshambo is very well handicapped and showed at ludlow 2 runs ago that he is no back number,his last run is harder to make a case for but i shall have a little bet on him as there arent many well in here,no buts get on so well with tom scu. he didnt act at cheltenham but his newbury win is strong form and could still be well in,d bridgwater was talking of top handicaps for him early in seaseon although bridgy can be a touch optimistic. the favourite should go well but will have a contested lead and im not sure how strong the cheltenham contest was.WARWICK 4.00 the 2 i like in a competitive race are CAPARD KING and BROWNVILLE,both unexposed capard king was all at sea around fakenham last time.very closely related to staying mudlark keen leader he is 18lb higher than 2 runs ago but looked very progressive at huntingdon beating another well in runner,brownville comes from quite a strong race at chepstow{form doesnt always travel} beaten 5 lengths by 2 pipe horse who were well fancied 15 lengths clear of the rest his only bad run was in chepstow heavy which was probably to much soft is fine.i think at 12-1 he is a decent each way poke.this is a strong race though with a progressive pipe horse and an unexposed niel king horse.
