if you are going to lay i suppose youre better off place laying it
By:
are you sure? what do you fancy to beat it
By:
Good luck with that! Think your going to need it! Never any certs in this game but I sure as heck wouldn't want to lay this thing at even 1/2 it's got the fear factor about it.

the bloob.......those fences take some jumping.........
By:
Im FULL BANKING on UDS beating himself, I think Josses Hill 14/1 is the bet of the century.
By:
just have a feeling faygheen more likely not to win than this one
tho' ur modus pensandi may well be borne out some short ones 2moro |
By:
Did u see his last run giving weight away to Clarcam and a big beating he's the real deal alright.
Was very impressive and controlled in that run, Ruby gave him a wonderful ride, this is gonna be one of the highlights of the meeting for me. Fancy Josses Hill to give him most to do eventually but got to fear for the bank of the op. ![]() |

Please explain Clonmel bullys for me...?
By:
why is there always one ,always start with the dramatic FULL BANK LAY bit ,ur not telling anyone something they don't know ,and a part of me thinks you only put this up so u can say after wards ,look at me i new ,and if he hack's up ,u'll be nowhere to be seen .Plus every year the mighty big bucks ran at this meeting ,there was the annual MAX LAY thread ,oooooh the good old days .........just kidding time for some new memories and new champions to fall for and some old one's too ,to let the new pretender's there not done yet .GOOD LUCK ALL and remember don't do ur balls in the first day ,remember u have all week to do them in properly

why would ewe want to lay one horse per race?
By:
i love hurricane fly probably more than the owner but i look at the first day and can see mullins winning the championship title of top trainers at chelts straight away. I keep looking for angles but all 4 look bomb proof..one will probably go down due to stats but that is life.
By:
Tbf, Corky, Clonmel is an exact replica of Leppers..
By:
I've laid UDS also. 8-11.If it wins it wins but at 8-11 has to be taken on
By:
Sounds very grand but exactly how much is a full bank? It could be a fiver for all we know.
By:
Can't be lumping on an odds shot when there's still 25 races and 3 days to go.
By:
Im having a little ew on court minstrel. Think he will be suited by the better going and hopefully can pick off a few of these up the hill. 27/1 on here.
By:
bound to trade shorter than SP in play as it burns off most of the field
By:
Could tear off and fall early
By:
indeed, the possibilities are infinite
but one of the likelier ones is that he tears off in front and the price shortens a fair few ticks always worth laying shorter odds if you can |
By:
Agree not the safest proposition
![]() |
By:
Play lay of the favourite purely because I have concerns that the horse will get round safely - if he stays on his feet must win surely!!
By:
Mental issues? This isn't the fcukin sopranos. The OP must be from the national union of bookmakers.
By:
Yes, absolutely judorick. If 10 in front after 4 then he goes 2/5
By:
ridiculous price but barring a fall wins for me
hard to back any shorties here....... |
By:
race could be over very soon if it goes clear....
By:
i'll tell you something, Cheltenham could be over very soon for the mugs backing "Willies" Navan oppressors.
By:
You must be a bookie mate
By:
or a lunatic....
By:
Not involved in race but all said and done, its a 2 mile novice chase round chelts has no course form ,looks an aeroplane
great race to watch imo .... |
By:
agree
By:
g2d, Leop is left handed and flat, Clonmel is right handed and undulating, how does that quantify them as exact replicas...?
Clonmel bullys and Navan oppressors, sounds like the OP has a chip on his shoulder concerning Willie. |
By:
not a chip
a sack of king edwards..... |
By:

respect oneya and gl if you let it ride.

Was very impressed with how Ruby got him to pace himself last time.

Un De Sceaux is a very good horse and might well hose up but this is a Cheltenham festival race after all and on the level of form it has achieved so far and with these type of rivals he will face, he doesn't deserve to be odds on and there is no value there in my view, no matter how visually impressive he has looked so far.
He still has to come up Cheltenham's hill at the finish and jump the stiff fences without either coming down or making any significant errors and I'm sure he won't get a soft lead and will be taken on, or else too much early use might be made of him and we could see him slightly over-racing from the off if Ruby insists on making it and then that's where the hill might come into play at the business end of the race. It is interesting that they have taken Vautour out, which I personally think is a "mistake" as such, although that is probably more by design than anything else, although both horses are in different ownership and the jockey and trainer clearly didn't want to have them opposing each other (especially Ruby you would imagine, if he wanted to ride both) but you are supposed to do best by all of your owners and it's not a given that the JLT or RSA is the best race for Vautour. As current prices stand now you could dutch every other runner in the field against UDS and still (more than) double your money at around evens if one of them wins with 10 running for you and I think I would rather that than only have UDS going for me at odds-on. You could maybe even increase your return by not dutching all 10 others by say dropping the 2 outsiders or have the next 6 in the betting after UDS or whatever. I'll personally probably take on UDS by dutching Vibrato Valtat, Three Kingdoms and Josses Hill and possibly Clarcam as I think the course might suit better. I'd also far rather back the yard's Douvan in the opener than UDS in the Arkle and you could even dutch the yard's 4 runners in the opener and still make a profit if one of them wins. |
