The last time I saw Smith-Eccles on the box he was standing in the paddock at Yarmouth trying to say "Nick Littmoden". He had about half a dozen goes before the director showed mercy and cut back to the studio. I'd like to think he's still standing there a decade on, still trying to say "Nick Littmoden", in which case he's still technically employed by ATR. |

thanks ram, don't know if it was a sacking or just perhaps a realisation that he wasn't cut out for tv but I seem to remember he did quite severely criticise a jockey once for a poor ride, so he wasn't necessarily sponsored by bisto
