What's your point?
By:
That welsh bloke that wore those silly jumpers - name escapes me?
By:
I'd have thought it obvious but hey I'll explain.
The point is that there is no standard below which a pundit or presenter can slip and expect to be unfit for purpose. Ok? |
By:
McCririck, Lesley Graham, Jim McGrath and Mr Magoo. That enough for you!
By:
Spyker - nogoodboyo on here ? He retired to St Ives didn't he?
By:
But isn't that the same as football punditry for example? It's very subjective.
By:
I think you'll find the odious McCririck still appears on ATR?
Graham - was she sacked? McGrath -which one?! |
By:
All contractors on ATR, not employees.
By:
Mark Winstanley perhaps?
As long as you toe the line, you don't get sacked. But that goes for pretty much all jobs. Obedience keeps you in your job more than competence. |
By:
Losestanley a good call
By:
Dave Compton probably.
By:
Matt Chapman nearly got the chop innit

Jonathan Powell made way for Rishi Persad, and never forgave the BBC for it.
Has also lost jobs at the Daily Express and Mail On Sunday. Willie Carson not re-employed when BBC ditched racing. Jimmy Lindley 'released' as a paddock judge. |
By:
So basically, lots.
By:
Andrew Barr !
RP Pricewise, and RUK. Probably got rid of because he was too good. He was top of my tipster tables when he went, showing a ROI of 20.83%. Does anyone know where he tips these days ? Sad loss. ![]() |

andy richmond ruk gone awol.
By:
im sure i muted richmond recently
By:
Alastair Down was lucky to stay in the job at times - appeared at times to be quite ahem "tired".
Angus Loughran was ditched by the beed i think for going bankrupt ? |
By:
That judge was he called Dave Smith?
By:
Andrew (Barr) simply bets on here these days.
Lovely kind chap who never had a seat on the gravy train. Not the ones driven by Casey Jones or Claude Duval anyway. |
By:
Bill Smith. I thought he was quite good.
By:
As someone says, Matt Chapman was 'sacked' for a short time, by ATR.
I believe the Forum played some part in his reinstatement. Was years ago and memory is misty |
By:
Julian Wilson...Was supposed to be a expert on horses, he was on live BBC TV and made a complete fool of himself turned out he was just a rich kid who knew nout about horses but he was very well connected and was given the odd good tip by his famous dads mates and his old Harrow chums, because he talking in a posh voice people thought he was intelligent...big mistake got the bullet from TV and radio but went on earning a living from writing absolute tosh.
By:
matt doyle....hardly surprising
By:
Was Jonathan Powell sacked because he is white?
By:
Jonathan Powell rubbed everyone up the wrong way, including the Pipes !

georgebakerfanclub - you might want to do a bit more research on Julian Wilson's racing knowledge

I was never a Wilson GBFC fan but i suspect if you wrote everything you know about racing and started at the same time as him he'd use up more paper than you!
By:
..had you done it last year of course......
By:
Must be George Baker the trainer. He never made it as a journalist, still bitter.
By:
George Baker most definitely DID make it as a journalist. He could not help his paper THE SPORTSMAN going down the pan. A blessing in disguise for him but not for some guys like Richard Evans, who now writes about Bridge.
By:
did'nt Chapman have a go at a Jockeys
ride in Ireland one day? |
By:
'Trainer' - Pat Murphy used to be on ATR a lot - and disappeared entirely
Former jockey - Dale Mckweon used to be on ATR a lot - and disappeared ... - not long after his brother 'jockey' Dean got his comeuppance. |
