The first bars I made were shocking but starting to look good now.
I have been doing them as sterling .925 as I dont want all the chemicals around with the kids.
a local engineers is going to make me some custom molds once i have a couple of designs ready.
not planning on selling them just a bit of a hobby with an upside of silver bars for maple.

The value of the 2012 Sovereign is, as with all sovereigns, largely driven by the Gold price.  This coin is currently and freely available at £200/£210.

Homefortea - you have made several contributions to this thread - Hardly any of them relevant to the subject matter. The only contribution vaguely related was to offer an inaccurate and misleading view of the term and nature of "legal tender"  Jolly well done.

Makybe Diva - Loads of them sell regularly for about £50 on Ebay.  Serious investment bargainCrazy - no silver content, no market and  roughly 250,000 in circulation.

Thanks MT. I've got lots of 50p coins. I'll check them tomorrow. I'm upstairs now.

Yes, Blackbarn, there are quite few undated 20p coins with high bids on them at the moment.

Mr Makybe says he has heaps of 20p coins. I will look at them tomorrow.

No luck with the ones in my purse Sad

What silver will you smelt?
The scrap sold on ebay is either over priced or stupidly under priced.

2013 silver £20 250,000 sold
2014 silver £20 coin, max issue was 250,000, but i dont think they all sold so less around
2015 silver £20 issue limited to 200,000 and feature mr churchill

dunno what the problem with legal tender is, ...

2013 coins going for around £28

2014 ryder cup 5 ers sell for £15 and are not legal tender anywhere
By:

I can see some collectibility in the 2013 ones as they were the first issued so might keep a couple.

The coin that made me laugh was the tiny gold one 1/40 of an ounce and was £50 I think.

chards dont like it as it hits their trade in people buying silver

if royal mint produce nice £20 coins in 2016,17,18 then they may become collectible

one for the future too....

Clydesdale Bank intends to issue two million 5-pound polymer notes featuring the Forth Bridge and a portrait of Sir William Arrol, whose company constructed the bridge. The notes will be issued in March 2015 on the 125th anniversary of the bridge.

the early editions (low numbers)sure to be sought after
