I agree with madhatters...rules are rules and if some on here haven't bothered to read and understand them they cannot have any justifiable complaint if they are penalised for breaching them. Indeed if penalties are not applied for breaking the rules we will be in a state of anarchy and George will be obliged to act like a dictator to keep everyone in order.

The rule quoted is for nons after deadline is it not ?  not before so should be no problem .

General George has already covered it with his common sense "ensuring fair play" policy and has the final decision on all such matters .

NRs can only be changed before racing starts. The reason for asking that all selections be posted before racing gets under way is so that people can't then select when knowing the outcome of some / all of their opponent's picks.

Unfortunately you had duplicated one of your opponent's selections (Kingfisher Creek) and the rule for duplicate selections is:

10. No duplicate selections, whoever takes the chance of showing their picks first will have first choice. If an opponent then selects the same horse, it will be settled as a loser, regardless of the outcome.

So sorry, but I will have to settle KC as a loser.

The trouble with the new NR rule is any one who posts and has to go out or to work is at a disadvantage from those sitting there freezing to death in their underwear frightened to move in case they miss an advantage

if there is a non runner , it could go on the fav
if your competitor has picked the fav , it could go on the 2nd fav

seems a bit unfair not to have a selection ( or chance to have a winner ) because of a non runner , at least this way you have a chance

Anyway it had to win Dickie as I suspect as its BSP & Putin actually got placed paying 2.08 a place, if mine was 4th it still would not have been enough to beat you I think.
Though not sure what the ruling is if a horse is third but eight or more declared & a dividend is given if it counts for place purposes, anyway good luck tomorrow.

The Reserve Rule

We'll compromise, 1 reserve, which is optional (other than when an inspection is called), will be permitted, and any NRs can be substituted up until the deadline time.

Then that will make it fairer for people who aren't around / are working.
