Imfao Laugh

I don't think so mate. I just dislike "botters" as I think the above applies.

You are better than that Shirley Wink

If I was to be given a "bot" that would guarantee me £100 a day I wouldn't take it.

Where is the fun in it?

I would rather struggle to a score a day and be involved in it all rather than have some machine nick me a few quid.

Just an opinion ofcourse.
Report ima_mazed66 January 8, 2015 8:44 PM GMT
Why do people tend to assume that using a (ro)bot means there's no skill or judgement involved?

If I fancy a hold up horse at 3.5 on here but know it will go out due to its style of racing so set the bot to ask for 5.5 and it goes on to win, does that show a lack of skill or judgement? Same with setting up a back and lay at say 4.0 and 3.0 on a known front runner.
Report ima_mazed66 January 8, 2015 9:13 PM GMT
Can't quite see the logic (or lack of) preferring to make £20 a day of your own accord rather than a guaranteed £100 a day via a bot, and if you are only in it for the fun of it rather than to make money then why bother putting on anything and just make selections and watch the outcome instead?

There are people earning a lot less that £100 a day in a job they dislike so certainly aren't doing that for the fun of it, yet a set and forget bot making you £100 a days gives you both the time and money to have a lot more fun in other ways.....and that's without even stating the obvious of doing both the bot and your own things anyway.

Just can opinion ima.

I struggled to a profit today... I got a 5 races completely wrong, and got 2 right.

The fact I didn't lose in the day was a buzz, the fact I managed to win on the day was a joy.

I put effort into each race I played and getting it right is what keeps me coming back.

Loading up a bot or alike doesn't rock my boat. As stated its just an opinion.

The daily battle against other opinions is what keeps me interested.

I would disregard Koddys immediately however.

Be lucky

Yeah that's fair enough bannahan but like I said above, you can still do both and if anything the bot guarantee acts as a buffer to protect losses when you have them elsewhere but boosts things nicely when both methods win on the day.

I've done things like trading or bonus bagging and already know I've made a profit as soon as both back and lay bets are matched and it's a bit boring knowing you have already won even before the event takes place (but I can live with that lol) but still do my own thing on here too.

Each to their own though as you say and I know you worded it for example purposes as an either or thing but I just feel it doesn't have to be that and whilst I maybe wouldn't have quite used King of Dubai's wording lol, I can understand the sentiment if anyone wouldn't want an extra £700 a week.

Be lucky yourself too though.

excuse my ignorance but how much do these bots cost ? not that I want one but just curious !
Report diktat January 8, 2015 10:45 PM GMT
completely new to bots so excuse me if there is no easy answer but lets say you had a 5K bank, how much per day would you aim to make or what % would you be staking per day?

So ima_mazed is on defending bots. Why am I not surprised     Sad

So salmon spray is on showing his lack of comprehension skills, why am I not surprised?

I've neither defended nor condemned bots and merely asked a question why do so people assume that anyone using a bot means there's no skill or judgement involved?

The clue was when I used the words:

"Why do people tend to assume that using a (ro)bot means there's no skill or judgement involved?"

Oh and shocker of shocks for you salmon spray but people are essentially using a form of bot when asking for a price not yet available on Betfair's own interface, as you are basically asking it to put a bet on for you automatically rather than manually doing it yourself once it reaches your own chosen requirements, or if ever having used Betfair's own bot Betfair Rapid and all bots tend to have a faster refresh rate than Betfair's own interface, offer better one click betting features and various other advantages that Betfair's interface might not, yet have nothing at all to do with skill or judgement. Betfair have even adopted was is basically a greening up option via Cash Out, which bots have provided for years.

I bet you are the kind of person who also doesn't get the idea that you can't just look at a calculator and have it work out a sum for you and you still have to understand concept of what you are asking it to do.
Report salmon spray January 9, 2015 12:07 PM GMT
Never use a calculator. All in my head mate.
