well, it was identical colours...i double checked number cloths halfway round otherwise hard to know

You can sympathise with Dessie who has a field of 26 or so to deal with but backers who put there cash on based on a commentary reallly needs there bumps felt.

How many runners did Mr Mcmanus have in the race ?
There were only 2 with these colours.
Multiple owner entries must be a priority for commentators prior to a race .....it really is not very good.

There's no excuse for it all. Part of a commentator's job is to swot up on all the colours in the morning and to note those with similar colours in order to avoid such a farce. Totally unprofessional, in many professions you'd be sacked for such incompetence. He though, will get off scot free of course. And I didn't lose a penny by the way, I was on the winner for a place.
Thought i would pay a rare visit to the BF forums on the back of this. I see the usual idiots are still around. Get a life some pictures and move on. Dont blame others for what is a rare mistake from a very good race caller

In running punters should note that they are playing with their own dough not his so make sure you know exactly what you're punting.

They've just replayed it with the commentary re-done!
In the very next race there was Kilkishen and Kilclispeen. These could have found out many a commentator but Dessie handled them brilliantly, with unwavering accuracy.
Didn't somebody else have to apologise a couple of races later? (I thought it was Shouty Man but my recollection is that it was a RH course!)

Koo made his money with a 1000/1 shot incorrectly called as a faller.
Anybody who loses money by betting on the word of a Race Course Commentator deserves to lose
