Merry Christmas all.  Basically want to start my form study for mainly aw racing, the night before & was thinking of subscribing to the Racing Post online edition, to view on my laptop (not ipad!) but I cannot for the life of me find out how much the frickin thing costs? Has anyone got a link for this or can tell me how much it costs? Also are there any alternatives out there, free or not? I've got use to how the form is laid out in the RP, ie the horses last 3 runs, clear to see and I, myself haven't come across anything similar on the net, although I'm hoping fellow forumites might be able to point me in the right direction. TIA.

You might struggle to get a subscription actually.
They don't want everybody subscribing to their Members Club as it's mainly for the professionals in the game.

Thanks for the links swift-tuttle. horseracebase.com looks interesting & will give the free trial a go. To subscribe to the RP online as it would appear as a newspaper is £630.72 per year which I think is a bit much as I very rarely buy it on a Sunday, but, https://www.racingpost.com/membership/all.sd sounds more reasonable but what is the difference between this & the online newspaper?

You got to be mad paying £600 a year for something thats available for free.

^ "what is the difference between this & the online newspaper?"
-------------------------

Are you 'fishing' ?

If not - and I suspect not - then ...

If you cannot work out that basic principle - then might I suggest that you re-consider your All-Weather adventure.

However - to help
-------------

You are looking at the 'wrong' subscription - for the Website alternative.

The, "£630.72," that you quote is, of course, to DOWNLOAD from the website the NEWSPAPER (presentation).

Why anybody would (still) want to 'FORM Study' from that out-dated and dinasoural display leaves one aghast.

When, the ONLINE WEBSITE version of Racecards and FORM is far more detailed, far more comprehensive, faster to use - and has LIFETIME Form for the horses (no matter how many runs they have had) - as opposed to just the Last 3 outings in the paper, and the DOWNLOAD version.

You can get ALL THAT - for FREE - without subscribing - BUT - If you want MORE detail - The RacingPost Ratings, Topspeed, Pedigree FULLER details, and the ANALYSIS at the base of each RESULT - THEN you would need to subscribe.

You do NOT need the FULL subscription - which includes unlimited access to over-rated Video Replays, and Tips(ters) etc ... Just the ESSENTIAL Membership is adequate - at £14.50 per month - that equating to "174 per annum (paying month by month) - as opposed to the ludicrous £630 for the newspaper style DOWNLOAD.
-------------

Might I add that - If you are asking how to study the RacingPost WEBSITE FORM - as opposed to racing around it like a Ferrari - then you will find Horseracebase, and the like, even more difficult to get your head around.

That does NOT mean that Horseracebase is better, or more comprehensive - it is NOT  - it being more for people who bet by Stats, and have a 'geeky' approach to punting ...  as opposed to more  traditional FORM STUDY.... for which -  RacingPost.com is far more 'user-friendly'.
-------------

However - if looking at FORM - and I mean proper detailed FORM - and not just, basic, past outings positions etc -
- But, proper FORM that RESONATES withIN you, and is not just some letters and numbers on a page .... If that is NOT a natural function to you - then NO amount of STATS, Tables, 'Bells & Whistles' will help you. - or ANYBODY else, for that matter.

If you have NOT got that kind of affiliation and ABILITY withIN you, then the RacingPOST WEBSITE will NOT help, either.

You can try such FORM Study out for FREE - firstly - on racingpost.com.

So I suggest you do THAT, initially - and then think about the ESSENTIAL Membership (ONLY) if you become well versed in the modus operandi of the Website FORM - and Feel that you want the additional items that I outlined earlier.

Whatever you do - Tread warily my friend.

There are All-Weather Experts on here - just waiting to 'eat you alive'.

Of course he's fishing.

How can anybody be on here for nine years, and I presume using the RacingPost website as well, and not know how to go about getting a subscription to their service and it's cost.

The invitation to join is right below the cards in front of you where the betting forecast should be.
It's also at the top of the page.
Also if you click most of the boxes in red in More Info it jumps out at you.

Thanks for the replies - I'm not fishing & have never used the RP website. I was having difficulty in finding subscription prices, but managed it in the end. Maybe I didn't explain myself very well. I buy the RP in the morning, turn to the form pages, & go from there. I'm not that interested in collateral form, what I'm looking at is where the horse was drawn on its previous starts & it's running style, then I will look at trainer form & maybe trainer form at the track etc. I very rarely look at topspeed, rpr ratings, breeding etc It's a hobby more than anything, I normally bet between £10-£30 on a horse, more if I fancy one or have a day at the races, sometimes back 2 or 3 in a race & very rarely back at less than 3-1.
I'm not some aspiring professional punter, I just want an easy to look at form guide like in the Racing Post, but I want to be able to do it the night before, when there's naff all on tv, put my bets on the next day then get on with some work rather than being glued to the RP, computer & racing channels all day. I have used the Sporting Life & ATR websites, not the RP site yet, & at first glance they're not laid out the way I'm use to, but as they're free maybe I just need to adjust, because as you you say, forking out £630 is a big hurdle to overcome at my stakes before you have a chance of getting anywhere.
As for the quote,
There are All-Weather Experts on here - just waiting to 'eat you alive', I've more or less given up on here unless I want to lay one or fancy one at a big price as I've found it's better value and easier to have a range of accounts with the bookies, seek the best price & go with BOG.
I hope, maybe, that I've made myself a bit clearer as to what I'm looking for & if anyone has any further suggestions, (not a slagging off) then I would be most grateful.

McCoy Carp -

You are obviously used to NEWSPAPER style previous outing  display.

There is NOTHING anywhere on the whole Internet like that ... other than the £600 + plus Racing Post NEWSPAPER DOWNLOADS facility .... NOTHING anywhere else - as there would be little demand for it.

You say - "where the horse was drawn on its previous starts & it's running style"

Well - both those are clearly shown in the OnLine Lifetime History of the horse(s) on racingpost.com

You just click on the Horse NAME on the Racecard - sand it's Lifetime History appears. - THEN > ...

You click on the DATE of the Race - and that RESULT appears ... showing WHERE it was DRAWN - and 'Comments In-Running' (as in the Newspaper) .

Perhaps you have NOT been clicking on ... 'SHOW Comments In-Running' - at the top of each race Result.
-----------------

The next question you will be asked is ...

How can you, "have a range of accounts with the bookies," -   accommodating[/b] you with "£10 to £30 Bets" with "BOG" given aswell? ...
and not be a serial Loser - because anything other than that - and your bets would be restricted, BOG withdrawn, and, even, Accounts closed.

That does sound 'fishy'.

Thanks, you've answered my question. Well, let's see how I get on, looks like I'm going to have to adapt. It's only recently I've started betting online with the bookies, use to do all my horseracing betting on here, but I'm fed up with it. I'd rather take the odds, & know where I stand with the advantage of BOG. I've never known the markets, esp for the aw, to be as volatile as they are lately.
