I was only a nipper in the 60s but remember that" smog" around teatime  from the factorys and peoples chimneys................. thick as fook , anyone remember the "toffee apple man used to have a basket on the front of his bike full of the sticky fookers  , saturday morning pictures ,red bus rovers ,money back on empty  beer bottles and lemonade bottles , sarsaparilla, ice cream with a wafer on top and bottom, knickerbokka glorys from rossis ice cream parlour ,home made bread and butter pudding ,rice pudding with a thick skin on top ,christmass pudding in school and if you were lucky you found a sixpence in it , me old granddad studying form  with  his head in  the sporting life ,a tuppence each way acca usually written on the back of a cigarette packet , not a lot of money about then  but we got by !
