i've been using a gruss/bot to try a system for pennies but i never realised i had placed over a 1000 bets. anyway what does it matter i would of thought they would of been pleased that a customer had been using the site so much. What sort of business charges a customer if it uses their product too often. Madness.
Does the purple site make charges like this?

The number of requests for Price changes/Updates - and consequent 'one tick' continual 'back and forth' Bets - as in finite Trading.... made in an hour?
I believe there is - and has been a limit in place for some time - to stop automated Bots bringing the Site to a halt ... as, similarly, in 'Denial of Service' Attacks.... were many Betfair Bots to make repeated Requests simultaneously.

Bet Txn Charge for over 1000 per hour on 26/06/20 Got me as well. Just told them been with them since the start and thousands spent with them so they've made a fortune with the commission but it seems some greedy brainchild has decided it's not enough just like they did a few years ago with those that win. If you win well they have the bloody check to grab a good amount of your hard-earned. Well, I'm now off to **** so **** You Betfair you robbing bastards.

I was under the impression that they waived the first days transaction charges and just sent you an email saying you would incur them in the future. ( To give you a chance to change your strategy )
The excess of 1000 bets per hour charge, is offset by any commission paid. So transaction charges should be minimal or non existent if your bets are getting matched.
Many people don't seem to realise the cost of developing and maintaining a large IT application. I wouldn't be surprised to find that the cost per bet is somewhere in the region of 1p to 3p each if you took the cost of the IT and divided it by the number of annual bets.
Plus I'd guess that people would bring the whole site to a halt with 1,000's of bets per minute if there was free unfettered access.
