I was brought up with the Dickinsons,Tony,Michael and Monica
Before you have a gamble on a chaser you must be sure the horse is jumping well.
Don`t have a gamble on a flat horse.
The gamble must be on a hurdler, i.e.most of them will never ever win a race of any description

They didn't train Flat horses, anyway - as became more than apparent when Michael moved to Manton.

So how could they claim ..... "Don't have a gamble on a Flat horse."

Conversely - I may say .... 'Don't have a gamble in a Chaser' ......

- It may Fall .... or be Brought down.

However, I agree - the best, or rather  the SAFEST, gamble medium would be a Hurdler.

I believe handicap when he says he won a half million on horses.....its more than possible......what about the 5 million he lost though.....I think that should get a mention......
I know where all those fellas finished up driving jockeys round the country.....the only way they'd tolerate ya was if you were paying for the petrol......which was always the way with jockeys.....they wouldn't give ya the itch them yokes.....

And,God Forbid, you ever happened to be the shortly to be retired Jockey's driver,Paulie.
He is the worst judge of horseflesh known to man.

Im not surprised......he looks like hes not the full shilling......only the other day I heard him saying that the others were fighting for second against Taghrooda....
Not a mention that it was a filly.....who was running quick enough.....and was taking on older filies.....

Handicap - That would be a long drive, in those days - to Sandown from Yorkshire - when the M1 was only partly built/open from London around Northampton.

All those Roundabouts, on the old (mostly NON-Dual-Carriageway) A1 .... you must have got dizzy.
Report DUNERUNNER August 24, 2014 10:23 PM BST
I remember Dorlesa winning at Catterick and I am sure Bob Davies rode it that day - maybe Michael was injured.
