the thread on the race showed that many of us predicted before hand that Hughes would not ride out for a place.

I layed Hughes for a place in that race so feel justified to be happy now after backing him when losing 3rd because of incompetence

If he gets away with it they may as well not have rules!

BHA have had many opportunities to suspend him for not riding out and can only assume they couldn't care less.....only solution is never back him each way or place unless a group race.

I complained to the BHA that the "Top" jockeys don't ride out for a place . Their reply was that the on course Stewards are responsible for enforcing that rule and there is nothing they can do if the stewards don't take any action. and as they are all scared of upsetting the jockey they won't take any action.

what happens if one of the lesser lights does this? it's about time one of them gets done and shows the stewards a DVD of Hughes' top 50
