From behaviour of market - multiple BOT'S.
By:
yeah , not only multiple bots , but someone with a huge balance to cover the liabilities
By:
BOT's use betfair software to interact with the users bot software ?
bugs galore there |
By:
8 mil plus need to cover that lot so matbe its befair bot that messed up

Bad luck for the money stealers

My theory:
I think someone made a small mistake in a book-making bot that made it Back instead of Lay. That could happen quite easily if you copied and pasted your Json request (for example). Then the bets that that bot placed forced up the book percentage and the bot thought "hey happy times" and fired in more bets in a viscous circle. Whoever it was was a massive muppet - the coding mistake is understandable but not having safeguards in place to stop it from spiralling like that is incredibly dumb. |

By:
i feel like a mupet coz i stop at 200 winning and some have pocket 20k and been paid yp to now
By:
what about the purple site? they just mirror here so mess up over there also? doubt a bean gets matched IR there anyway
By:
biggest fault is Betfair didn't suspend it immediately, anyone with a brain bigger than a pea could see what was happening
![]() |
By:
The market was 200.1 percent all through the race
By:
thats insane , some of u lot made 20k on a seller @ Ballinrobe ??
By:
dear me , what a thing
By:
if they say they are looking at it in the next hour, you can bet your life it's betfair money
By:
the winner of the race was still being laid at big prices when it became obvious who was gonna win, my bet is betfair will suspend all withdrawals/account affected by this mess up
By:
why would betfair suspend,no reason to.
By:
tis likely bf own money and hopefully they taking it on the chin
By:
no way its betfairs money
By:
If it was BF, then why have they settled so quickly?
When it was VLV, the market was still suspended until the next day if I remember. |
By:
we will see tomoz if its there when all wake up a good few will behaving a party
By:
if it were bf's you honestly think they'd take it on the chin?
By:
cant be bf's money, they have paid out
![]() |
By:
exactly wesdaq, that was a completely different case
By:
they have never taken it on the chin before
By:
Indeed,Dusty.
The verminous dogs would "knock" the Pope if they got the chance. |
By:
if it were bf's you honestly think they'd take it on the chin?
yep |
By:
no service announcement yet ?
By:
Saying what "Someone's bot messed up (not ours) so enjoy your winnings".
By:
Bots have messed up in the past and BF paid out. It will continue to happen.
By:
some bots are more equal than others imo
By:
I guess it depends if the right information was being returned by the API.
By:
they settled to quick to be bf money...imo
By:
The API was fine - see my theory above Frog.
By:
maybe, but you'd expect some account manager is getting the roasting of his life is it's a big punter
could be one part of betfair running the bot that the settlers just didn't know had had an issue, still think if that's the case they will freeze it and then if it's bf cash they wriggle off, but if it's a punter they will be checking the t&cs are tight lol |
By:
if was bf prob payment would still be pending..imo
By:
i guess steve, just feels like it is set to run even if it's out of public view
By:
![]() ![]() |
By:
I sincerely hope that it is a number of Bots malfunctioning and they have to pay out
![]() |
By:
if your bot had been spanked by a betfair market error would you accept it rs? they may have to but i bet there's some heated calls taking place if that's the case
By:
racingstar - Can u please give me some more info on what happened during the race? I get the jist at a high level. Any assistance would be much appreciated
By:
Were API-NG and API6 both sending out the correct information about the non-runner being put back in? It seems a big coincidence that this happened on a race a non-runner appears to have been taken out incorrectly for a time.
