Report racingstar May 13, 2014 3:05 PM BST

He lost his balance, end of debate.
Report spursboy May 13, 2014 3:05 PM BST

Report wallis May 13, 2014 3:05 PM BST
Depends how much money I was offered and its probably not doing 35..
Report Brett Lee May 13, 2014 3:06 PM BST
I wouldn't even get on a horse.But I bowl pretty fast.
Report San Quentin May 13, 2014 3:06 PM BST
strange just before he came off he took a good look to see what was around him and was it safe
Report ConradFry May 13, 2014 3:07 PM BST
Kavvie, it all depends how much I had been offered to jump off the horse at 35mph!
Report pandora1963 May 13, 2014 3:08 PM BST
that was unreal,he lifted his left leg up and jumped...
Report ConradFry May 13, 2014 3:08 PM BST
San Quentin, agree with your coment!
Report townley May 13, 2014 3:08 PM BST
no,but he does, the more they show it,the worse it looks
Report kavvie May 13, 2014 3:09 PM BST
doubt anything untoward happened there..if he didnt want it to win he wouldnt have it up there in first place..
Report duffy May 13, 2014 3:09 PM BST
I had backed it in-running at fancy prices so I agree...he jumped offGrin
Report racingstar May 13, 2014 3:10 PM BST
The perils of riding NH Horses with just your toes in suitably demonstrated.
Report ALLWEATHERKING May 13, 2014 3:10 PM BST
if you seriously believe he lost his balance the only prick on here is you racingstar
Report ConradFry May 13, 2014 3:12 PM BST
Kavvie, he has to have it "up there" so it can be layed at low prices!
Report Zoro May 13, 2014 3:14 PM BST
It looked bad, very bad.
Report rewired May 13, 2014 3:17 PM BST
atr should have interviewed him
explain it
falling off motionless
a very weak lady rider would not have fell off
i know these things happen but ive never seen one as bad as this
Report ConradFry May 13, 2014 3:18 PM BST
Rewired, I agree!
Report ConradFry May 13, 2014 3:18 PM BST
The BHA have to look into it and ask for an explanation!
Report PugMunter1 May 13, 2014 3:20 PM BST
that was disgraceful. The intent was there. No accident whatsoever
Report ConradFry May 13, 2014 3:23 PM BST
Betfair should void all bets on that horse so that nobody can profit from laying it at low prices, as the people that layed it low must have known "something" was going to happen!
Report rewired May 13, 2014 3:25 PM BST
drifted v badly at start
then short in running
Report pete_de May 13, 2014 10:29 PM BST
just watched about 6 times  don't think I have seen anything as bad as that
lifted leg and bailed out
Report Greg_Gory May 13, 2014 10:31 PM BST

Report HorseBurger1989 May 13, 2014 10:38 PM BST
He did jump.... He was told Thommo was interviewing the winner....
Report private bob May 13, 2014 10:39 PM BST
who fkn jumped off who ?
Report Deltâ May 13, 2014 10:39 PM BST
The Stewards held an enquiry into the fall of Grant Cockburn, the rider of FLOGAROSE (FR), on the bend exiting the back straight. They interviewed the rider. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the incident the Stewards noted his explanation that the mare had taken a step left towards the rails causing him to become unbalanced and unseated.
Report private bob May 13, 2014 10:41 PM BST
thanks delta
Report seaside May 13, 2014 10:41 PM BST
I was just about to back it inrunning as it looked the winner
Report HorseBurger1989 May 13, 2014 10:42 PM BST
I did back it in running Sad
Report HorseBurger1989 May 13, 2014 10:42 PM BST
Then 20 seconds later he jumped off
Report uptheboro May 13, 2014 11:11 PM BST
Surely if he was looking to jump ship he would have kicked his other leg out of the stirrups and fell towards the inside of the track therefore avoiding being trampled on by the horses behind.
Report EVILROYSLADE May 13, 2014 11:15 PM BST
Stick up for jockeys by all means but do not try to defend that! He jumped off, 100%! ( not meant for you Uptheboro). You don't have to have ridden a horse to understand what was going on there. The horse was tanking along and he did  a " Barry Brogan".
Report townley May 13, 2014 11:19 PM BST
who's barry brogan roy?
Report EVILROYSLADE May 13, 2014 11:26 PM BST
He was a seriously good jockey (NH) that by his own admission went bent. He wrote a book charting not only the great moments, but the crooked ones also. One particular time when ordered NOT to win by any means. Horse he was on bolted and was about to sluice in. He admitted to deliberately putting it wrong at second last (or thereabouts)and leaping off.
Report yorkie1 May 13, 2014 11:30 PM BST
for those with good memories have a look back at Graham Bradley at Southwell many years ago in a 3 runner affair and if you can read his autobiograhy before you say anymore kavie/racingstar.

depends whose got hold of you by what piece of your anatomy whether you'd jump off one or not!
Report EVILROYSLADE May 13, 2014 11:31 PM BST
Correct!
Report RBoyd86 May 13, 2014 11:32 PM BST
what race are we talking about please i like to have a look
Report EVILROYSLADE May 13, 2014 11:44 PM BST
2-50 Sedge.
Report khyber kim May 14, 2014 5:14 AM BST
That was incredible. He didn't jump he just stepped off simple as that. The most blatant I've ever seen, how anyone can defend that I've no idea.
Report Gordon63 May 14, 2014 7:15 AM BST
just watched this for first time (and rewound a few times just to be sure I'd seen with my own eyes!) and have to say it looked very poor and the least i would have expected was for stewards to refer the ride, unless they have some cameras on the inside which showed what exactly happened with his left leg leaving the stirrups but certainly from the normal camera angle it looked as if he jumped off.

and for all those who come on and say 'what do you know you've never ridden' or 'no way a jockey would intentionally fall or jump off', history shows that they do!  jeez, dermot browne lost a champion hurdle (sure the horse would have won) on his own horse, if that can happen then anything is possible
Report joe39 May 14, 2014 11:50 AM BST
Flogarose hit 1.41 in-running.
Racing does itself no favours when stewards "note" the explanation without telling the betting public what happens next.
Report stewarts rise May 14, 2014 11:57 AM BST
When stewards say, they "noted his explanation" rather than "accepted his explanation" thats pc talk for "We don't believe you!"
Needless to say the security dept will be looking for any unusual betting patterns and who was laying.
Report mandarin May 14, 2014 12:19 PM BST
wish we could see that from another angle Confused
Report Graeme83 May 14, 2014 12:59 PM BST
You don't need to see it from another angle. He clearly meant it, and the reason given doesn't allign itself with the evidence. The horse didn't step to the side at all, and if it did he wouldn't have had the time to hop off.(seconds after he took a look behind). It also brings into question others in the race, as someone else(another jockey) could likely have been involved.
