How come when I laid one in the race yesterday the reduction factor on Perfect Heart was 11.3%
I checked because I did not want to lay unless the deduction was there.
Yet this morning the reduction factor is N/A 0.00%
What sort of con is this!!

The reduction factor on the other reserve, Masquerading, was 3%, and now that too is N/A 0.00%
Collectively, I have been down for 14% of my lay - this cannot be right. When I laid the reduction factors were plain as day, you simply cannot move the goalposts like that! |

it is right if they were still active runners - it seems your timing is responsible for your 14%
Once they are withdrawn, the new market RF take effect - and the 2 n/r's must become 0 |

The OP is quite correct, the two reserves were showing with a significant reduction factor yesterday evening when I checked and decided a back bet at that stage would be a mistake.
When I checked again this morning well before they were officially non runners at 09:00, the reduction factor was shown as N/A and 0%. Seems to me it's BF that have the timing problem, as well as uncertain rules as to how reserves will be handled in the markets. |

they have to remain in the market (with RF,s) until they are officially declared as NR's, because if another horse came out and PH reinstated, then the RF would remain At what exact time did you check? |

Like I said before, yesterday evening and this morning at about 8am.
BF have a rule that states reserves will have a 'non applicable reduction factor', which only becomes applicable if they become a definite runner due to another horse being taken out. Which seems a fairly stupid rule and potentially confusing - if the reduction factor is 'non applicable', why include a percentage figure at all. I don't have a screen capture, but I'm almost 100% certain that the N/A code wasn't present yesterday evening, although it was this morning. Seems likely that whoever set up the market was unfamiliar with the correct procedure regarding reserves and it was only put right sometime overnight. |

I always considered that reserves with a non applicable RF were day of race or after final decs only
As you say its impossible to apply this to an antepost market So I think the op is right - in losing 14% because BF are applying a RF on a horse that shouldn't have one!! Perhaps BCS assistant could respond |

I think it is the other way round birch. The OP was expecting a RF on his lay but there isn't one for reserves.
