I thought the new ACCOUNT OPTIONS screen/format slowness and four clicks instead of one to get your account history was the last straw, appears there is another straw left in the box

Finally, it remains our intention to ensure the new site is superior to the classic, or old site, before we consider closing the latter.
I very much doubt that the new site will achieve superiority.

I wish somebody would explain it to me. I am not a complete dinosaur as I have used the new version of the forum for at least a year,as I think that is an improvement. I have very occasionally used the new betting site but found it inherently unstable. I very nearly put the wrong price up on there most times ( of course I do THAT on the old site. I mean I nearly put up a price which wasn't the one I intended ). I have never used the Sportsbook as I don't have accounts with old-fashioned bookmakers so all this talk of integrating that or otherwise means nothing to me.

Back & Lay around the wrong way - cards scrunched up - 8 runners in view whereas I currently have 10. Hope purple get their site geared up and invest in some more servers

Having found the 'new' site unuseable, I was expecting this Beta thingamabob to be equally horrendous.
My fears appeared to be confirmed when I attempted to launch Horse Racing Beta in Internet Explorer & got nowt but a basically blank screen.
Tried to access again via Google Chrome & this time it worked fine.
Having used it all afternoon, I have to say, much to my surprise, I like it!
Non-runners show at bottom of horse/jockey list with Time of Withdrawal/Reduction Factor marked (like they do on the 'Purple'), and really like being able to click on a 'completed' Market & it shows winning horse(s) with BSP (shows just 'winner' for AvB, W/O, FC & RFC Markets).
Now, if I can just suss out why it won't work with Internet Explorer on my Laptop, I'll be very happy.

Didn't work for me in the Safari browser so used firefox and this worked.. I have to say it replicates what you can do on the old site and that is what I want. The new site was unusable for me with the unordered sorting of bets. At last Betfair are listening.

Been using it today in Chrome and it actually works pretty well, it's a massive improvement over the current new site (which I have never managed to use for more than a few minutes).
The beta site manages to show the list of runners in a nice compact manner, the bet list is properly sorted (how long has that been broken on the new site for? How on earth didn't they fix that there?), it actually shows all three back/lay odds and SP (new site won't unless you make the browser really wide). Scrolling up and down doesn't cause the layout to go mad.
It's almost as good as the old site!

What is it with these IT people? Just had an upgrade on a family history website I use and they have wrecked the site and are facing a barrage of complaints.

I upgraded my browser. Tried to log on at the new site and can't!!! That's a lot of use then.
ditto here, I spoke to VIP dept at Betfair.
He said it works perfectly on Chrome and Safari, it was my fault for using the new BETA site on Internet Explorer !
reply is beyond my comprehension

Feb 2014 wiki shows that over 17% of the worlds online population viewed their webpages through Internet Explorer.
That means that over 17% of the current BF customer base wont be able to use the new site functuality.

Call me a traditionalist, I have been using PC's since the invention of the 286, and was online at the inception, I have always used Internet Explorer, why should I change ?

Second day using this new beta. So far, I am happy with it. The colours are a bit bright but that is not a major problem. The bet placement section is not ideal because the place bet and confirm bet buttons are not in the same position, this means you have to move the mouse to hit the confirm button. I can get around this by turning the confirm bet option off. Overall this is not bad and I could use this if the old site is turned off.It is a bit of a relief because I thought I would have to spend time building my own interface through the API( because the new site was unusable for me with its sportsbook type betslip.) Betfair: Better late than never but a step in the right direction.

Now with dutching for Back bets - though it's not as obvious as it might be.
Click on the 2 or more selections you want to dutch, then click on 'Stake' above the stake column on the betslip and you can enter your total stake to spread over those horses for a level profit.
I was going to say that would have been useful to have ten days ago, but since none of the 8 (yes, eight) horses I backed in the GN won it, easier dutching wouldn't have made a lot of difference!

this is really good because although the maths behind this is not particularly complex
you still normally have to use a calculator to find out the amounts by which time the original prices have probably gone
