I accessed the new Horse Racing pages BETA :-

Please upgrade your browser to view Horse Racing.

We built the new racing experience using the latest technology. This makes it faster and easier to use.
Unfortunately, your browser doesn't support this technology.

I went to Microsoft Internet Explorer Downloads :-

You've got our latest browser

Thanks for using Internet Explorer!

I thought the new ACCOUNT OPTIONS screen/format slowness and four clicks instead of one to get your account history was the last straw, appears there is another straw left in the box Laugh

Finally, it remains our intention to ensure the new site is superior to the classic, or old site, before we consider closing the latter.

I very much doubt that the new site will achieve superiority.

It would help if they could write in English. Their post reminds me of the instructions you used to get with Japanese TVs and stereos 25 years ago.

Read it and it all seems quite good tbf. IF they do what they say then not sure what the problem is.

I wish somebody would explain it to me.
I am not a complete dinosaur as I have used the new version of the forum for at least a year,as I think that is an improvement. I have very occasionally used the new betting site but found it inherently unstable. I very nearly put the wrong price up on there most times ( of course I do THAT on the old site. I mean I nearly put up a price which wasn't the one I intended ). I have never used the Sportsbook as I don't have accounts with old-fashioned bookmakers so all this talk of integrating that or otherwise means nothing to me.

Actually the new beta horse racing markets seem quite nice. Certainly much better than the current 'new' site.

So they are ditching the " new site " that nobody liked    Confused
By:

I hope so! The ideal result would be them leaving the old site running too

Back & Lay around the wrong way - cards scrunched up - 8 runners in view whereas I currently have 10. Cry
Hope purple get their site geared up and invest in some more servers Wink

Back and Lay the wrong way round?  How do you mean?  Market view looks right to me - I've been betting on it this afternoon as a trial.

Also seeing a grey column in between the pink and blue. Don't know what that's for Confused
By:

Yet bringing up the SP columns changes the lay and back cols round the usual way again. Weird Crazy

Having found the 'new' site unuseable, I was expecting this Beta thingamabob to be
equally horrendous.

My fears appeared to be confirmed when I attempted to launch Horse Racing Beta in
Internet Explorer & got nowt but a basically blank screen.

Tried to access again via Google Chrome & this time it worked fine.

Having used it all afternoon, I have to say, much to my surprise, I like it!

Non-runners show at bottom of horse/jockey list with Time of Withdrawal/Reduction
Factor marked (like they do on the 'Purple'), and really like being able to click
on a 'completed' Market & it shows winning horse(s) with BSP (shows just 'winner'
for AvB, W/O, FC & RFC Markets).

Now, if I can just suss out why it won't work with Internet Explorer on my Laptop,
I'll be very happy.

As if betfair listen to customer feedback. We are betfair, we do what we like.

The point of a beta test is they "want* you to report any bugs or problems.

Didn't work for me in the Safari browser so used firefox and this worked.. I have to say it replicates what you can do on the old site and that is what I want. The new site was unusable for me with the unordered sorting of bets.
At last Betfair are listening.

Didn't work for me in the Safari browser........

I was also using Safari - maybe it's not compatible with that.

Just tried it using Chrome and looks almost normal.

Don't like the grey background in the race-list menu - makes the pale blue text difficult to read.

Been using it today in Chrome and it actually works pretty well, it's a massive improvement over the current new site (which I have never managed to use for more than a few minutes).

The beta site manages to show the list of runners in a nice compact manner, the bet list is properly sorted (how long has that been broken on the new site for? How on earth didn't they fix that there?), it actually shows all three back/lay odds and SP (new site won't unless you make the browser really wide). Scrolling up and down doesn't cause the layout to go mad.

It's almost as good as the old site!

What is it with these IT people? Just had an upgrade on a family history website I use and they have wrecked the site and are facing a barrage of complaints.

Not much point to it if it won't work on IE. I am actually capable of using other browsers but not of working out issues I have with them.

He said it works perfectly on Chrome and Safari, it was my fault for using the new BETA site on Internet Explorer !

Feb 2014 wiki shows that over 17% of the worlds online population viewed their webpages through Internet Explorer.

That means that over 17% of the current BF customer base wont be able to use the new site functuality.
