I agree, I am fuming here ... not only that but they have now reversed withdrawals from the end of last week so that there is an even bigger chunk of cash sitting in my Betfair account (and not my bank account) ...

if this were a bank

they'd be cleaned out in the panic after an episode like this

was only saying yesterday about this shoddy outfit and its treatment of customers, appalling!

I'f I'm on the new or old site it still takes me to the same account page which isn't working and hasn't all weekend.  I have a pending withdrawal in there from Friday just sitting there too.

I managed to withdraw yesterday and today as normal - not sure what the problem is. Maybe I just got lucky twice but it does seem odd.

I've tried everything, clicking on PayPal tells me I'm not authorized.  I can get to the bank transfer page but I'm guessing even if it processes the withdrawal the same problems will occur.

was told when i rung up that the withdrawn money is in a holding account £40 in my case and they have to wait till they get it,why they cant just ring fence £40 of my money is beyond me

Withdrew some via iPhone app which seemed to go through.

Are you all able to do that but money does not make it.

Something seriously wrong here.  My account now has £200 more in it than it should and my withdrawals are £200 less than they were 48 hours ago.  Thank phuck I have been in the habit of withdrawing every night - if I had a good balance i would now be seriously worried!!!

i was told by betfair that 2 deposits made last week for £15 and £25 were in a holding account and until they receive the funds they wont let me withdraw anything,rung bank up and they have a clue just said one payment of £15 had gone thru

Been told the same. TBF I have moaned and I am still not happy, but the woman I spoke to recently explained things a bit more. So not happy,
but I understand whats happening a bit more now.

money i withdraw LAST THURSDAY is now back in my betfair account,i presume the money i withdraw on frday and saturday will be back in there too tomorrow,money i NEED for overdrafts and living

A lot of people have only just woken up to the problem. It MIGHT be certain banks but a couple of the bigger ones have been mentioned and mine is Santander and I am affected

its nothing to do with banks.

betfair accepted deposits over a period of time, credited peoples accounts, but got no authorisation codes from the intermediary bank.

people noticing they were depositing and not having funds debited from their balance loaded up and withdrew.  betfair noticed what happened and suspended all withdrawals until they knew which funds they had, and which would bounce.  thus impacting a lot of decent customers.

basically they ballsed up, and we all have to pay the price.  more afraid of a few people owing them a few quid than upsetting 15000 of their "valued" customers.

the guy i talked to said somebody who deposited £10 max, deposited £5k and withdrew it instantly.

That must be at least 50% of current accounts in the UK affected given that Natwest is now RBS and includes Halifax.

my withdrawal is by paypal.  others neteller, others banks.

nothing to do with your bank, its betfair holding the funds.

I'm sorry but if they have effectively been given people credit via debit cards , they should be refused a Gambling Commission license (when the new law comes in) unless the entire senior management are removed.

To be honest, this has now gone beyond poor customer service.

To have no announcement or make no effort to contact customers who's money their are with-holding is diabolical.

When this is finally resolved, i shall be using Purple only for the next 6 months, i'm a drop in the ocean to them, but i hope many others will at least boycott them for a few days to show the level of disgust at how their custom is treated.

It's a shambles.  The funny thing is, most people are actually quite reasonable if things are explained properly and they are given regular updates.  The wall of silence is just insulting.

Spoke to someone there and he said they didn't want to make an announcement in case they scare away business.

I've spoken twice to Customer Sales Reps who are told me that there was a big meeting at 2pm - not sure how this resolves anything.

I was even offered a Free £10 bet, which i declined as quite frankly there is no point me picking a winner if i cant ever get paid for it. If my bank treated me like this i'd leave!!

i urge everybody to tweet them, and retweet others complaints.  see if we can get it noticed by the outer world.
