If news and fact shock you i suggest you don't watch the news.

No wonder you don't post on this forum very often.Do you actually like horse racing ?. We know these accidents occur.
It isn't necessary to show gratuitous camera shots . |
|
By:
It's obvious that the reporter had an agenda.
He would have been disappointed if a horse hadn't died! |
|
By:
Yep.biased reporting
|
|
By:
I said it at the time the BBC divested itself of what was left of it's racing. It's run by lefties, nutters and activists who would have the perfect excuse to get stuck into the sport.

You now that do you? Fool |
|
By:
Totally agree with Facts , they had no need to show the horse fall ,and to point out which horse to watch before it fell was out of order .

BBC have had far more of an Agenda about Racing since it lost coverage. I wonder if replays of horse deaths with comments will be shown at Hickstead, Burleigh or any showjumpng events they cover will be covered on the National news...

|
By:
Exactly.

Typical lefty Liberals have to invade a horse racing forum..
I bet tiny p enis isn't even Black although I bet he wishes that he was..... ![]() |

I simply pointed out that someone posting that the reporter would have been disappointed if a horse hadn't died
today was pretty disgusting, and it is. You're right of course that someone with a life who doesn't post regularly on here must know very little about racing. Well said. |

Please don't tar all us low number posters with the stupid brush
![]() I've been a racing lover for 35+ years but I only post when I have time off, mainly Cheltenham, Aintree etc, but on here reading posts quite regularly. BBC have a quest to get racing banned now, they will be hoping the National has fatalities this year, and they may get their wish as the Grand National "hurdle" race might not get so lucky this year. |

it felt like the BBC News programme was waiting for a horse injury issue
the result of the champion hurdle was immaterial |

The Grand Nat has become a strange race...............Im a form student that has owned horses but dont claim to know about the horse as such i/e ask the trainer or the jockey BUT wot I do know is if a horse can take the pi$$ out of a fence it prob will.........U dont see damaged fences in the Nat "dolled off"..............they just walk through em

Do not pay for a licence EVER (so I have been told)...
If someone is mug enough to open the front door and invite them in (contrary to popular belief the only person who is allowed to enter your home without a warrant is the Customs man) and you have been sent a letter saying that you will have to attend Court.. Simply reply by stating that you will not pay for the licence because.. You do not agree with their left wing views.. You are disgusted with the salaries paid to the alleged "talent" and in particular to the inflated management... 100% guaranteed to work every time... |

It is prejudice dressed up as sentiment, pure Guardian reader stuff.

I really fear for the National, they are definitely speeding it up with the alterations and they really just got lucky last year. It also works against good old fashioned jumping horses - Teaforthree should/would have won last year over the old fences. Not my quote, but I agreed when someone said Red Rum might never have had a look in over these new "fences".
I'm of very strong opinion that instead of bringing Big Bucks back to try and win his 5th World Hurdle, I would have aimed the great horse at the National. I think he'd p1ss all over it now!! |

Spot on mange.
The new fences are a joke. The risk is the horses will race too fast through these 'big spruce topped hurdles' increasing the risk of fallers/deaths. The Grand National as once was ,has gone. |
|
By:
horse racing is viewed by the bbc as a white working class pastime. it ticks every box they despise.
|
|
By:
Well said Facts.
That article on the 6pm news was an absolute disgrace No journalistic balance, just a pointed attack on horse racing. To be honest, there is no need for day one of Cheltenham to even feature on the 6pm news |
|
By:
It wouldnt have been on the News otherwise rivets. The BBC probably responds to feeds from the Animal Liberation people or RSPCA campaigners rather than think for itself.
|
|
By:
That's right treetops.
If no horse had been injured/died today, they would have saved the piece until one had. The proof of this is the interview of (I forget his name)the jockey who had been off since last year's Cheltenham with injury. That interview was clearly pre-recorded. |
