I think most the bookies are like that Zip. Happy to take money off mugs but dont like it when somebody starts taking money off them. I dont think that any of them actuallly care about losing big punters to betfair as they all appear to be interested in is fobt customers. If they can all get rid of there racing customers then they can close down the big shops and open loads of small shops with just enough space for 4 fobts. Save a fortune on rent.

PP - geniuses at marketing? World class ? Don't be ridiculous man. You could say the same about Hiitler ! You may as well say The Sun is a serious newspaper and it's headline writers geniuses. Paddy Power and the like, who seek to be ' laddish' and ' in your face' are unscrupulous and degenerate in their behaviour. There are such old fashioned values as respect,good taste and having a level of decency and decorum. It maybe that these values are up for grabs and meaningless in today's 'grab what you can ' society. But I believe in those old fashioned values and always will. But then I'm 63 and was brought up to have respect and to have high standards and to know the difference between good and bad. |

i love their half time full time correct scores not many bookmakers do it , had some cracking returns , every xmas i get a free £50 bet , their guaranteed odds if the sp is better u get payed at better price is fantastic , i once had £ on a 13/8 horse it was 6/6 with most other firms , it won at 11/4 was delighted ! the judicial system is very dif from anywhere else as it the judge and judge alone that decides the fate off the accused in a murder case , no jury a lot off power for one man too wield ! lots off rumers off corruption etc , rem the accused is a millionair , he looks guilty as sin from the reports , but nothing wd surprise , me ! not a nice place too live in anymore , just a few months back , they had a mini tour de france kinda cycle race , 2 off the competitors were stabbed during the day and had the bikes stolen , one has spinal injuries ! who wants too stay in a fab 6 bed home with pool , if u gotta have electric barbed wire surrounding it  and a few great big guard dogs . this case epitomises , what a volitile place this beautiful country has become ! |

I didnt say i thought it was right, its clearly ethically wrong.
However the job of the marketing team is too get as much free exposure and as many people talking about them as possible. They have made the news probably in every newspaper, tv news etc and everyone is talking about paddy power. It would have cost them a fortune in advertising to get all this exposure. In the world of marketing its genius and paddy power are superb at marketing. |

 cheekie bar stewards ! laddie books have certain people at head office who identify big gamblers if a certain amount goes on they scan the slip to see if the hand writing is the same as other bets placed on said same horse , word off advice if you do the spread betting get other too write it or change hand writing . and don't even try too go into dif shops video killed the radio star  i know a guy who got 6 k on a horse on sat 9/4 can be done if u know how  ps it won ! |

Just because you court and achieve publicity it doesn't automatically follow that is gains you credit,kudos, and additional revenue. The phrase any publicity is good publicity is ludicrous. The history books are littered with failures, of those businesses and individuals who have lauded themselves to the height. In the uk in particular, we are good at knocking people off their pedestal . A company that smears and taints itself in bad taste and insensitive publicity will not gain business. Sure it gets the press and joe public talking about them , but will make them want to place a bet with them ? I very much doubt it. There will be thousands of people who will have closed their accounts, and many more who may have been thinking about betting with them,desist. Bad news like bad smells will lose you friends very quickly. People will not wish to associate themselves with the likes of what PP stands for , lest they be judged to be of the same ilk. This distasteful ad campaign will backfire on them. |
