Whether it is off or not I don't know, but it is certainly the case that it takes very little money to frame the markets nowadays and anyone who wants a decent bet at a price won't get it until a minute or 2 before the start of the race.

What about Betfair at it's best.Back,lay,trade.Win ,place,forecasts etc.Loads of value all over the place.No account closures or restrictions.Still the "greatest thing since sliced bread".
i get down on my knees twice a day and thank god for the ship they call betfair

it hasn't run yet , so it may be market manipulation .
was 5.1 the price it should be ?
in a 100% market , 1 or 2 horses can be backed , which will move the price of others out without people actually laying it thinking it may lose ( bots )

yup win/lose i take BF than any other exchanges and as for the bookies should have all closed down years ago but FOBTs for suckers keeps them alive

Traded nr 30 after going in play then went as low as 10 in running.
nice little pipe opener off a trip 2 far in unsuitable ground(won on heavy but best performance on good) different tactics stable clean up.
What are you all complaining about ? That the market gave you an indication of the horse's possible performance? Why are you complaining?

Did trade slightly shorter in running than at off. Maybe they couldn't lay any more.

Look at the form all u like it's the market last 5 mins before off that informs,in ur day to day stuff. 
it seems on this site too often unless you are financially involved in a race you can have no opinion

Maleu - If you can't accept that many things go on behind the scenes that us unconnected punters know nothing about,then you shouldn't ever have a bet.Despite all this , it's still perfectly possible to make long term profits on here.
Its why regulation is required, leave humans to their own devices and bad things occur when money is involved.

Whether you make a profit or not is not the issue Artie.Fortunately most horses do not perform like this one so none of this is an issue in those races.
The bottom line Artie is that those using info like that on here end up with more than a fair share of everyone's money.That includes your money too because you too cannot know on those horses whether the dice are loaded to a 1 or a 6 and the market on here is deceptive enough to by and large keep it that way.

artie a lot of people don't try and profit from drifters because they are not sure whether the drift is a 'no risk' drift, ie those involved are 100% aware the horse can't win or place or whether its sheep following pushing the price out to what actually turns out to be a value price.

Your winning strategy has an element of risk artie, as should all gambling. The point I was making is that people who are laying are purely gaining money with no risk, as the horse for whatever reason is not running to its true ability.

what happens when everyone like artie lays big drifters, and at what point does a drifter become a lay?
those in the know will lay a horse, drift it and back it at much bigger prices, does artie and his type become big loses.
