Miss Tenacious 3.20 win market 5 to 18,  place market 2.4 to 5.8.  They cant give it away, this exchange is made for people who know it is not off. this is not gambling its robbery.

Whether it is off or not I don't know, but it is certainly the case that it takes very little money to frame the markets nowadays and anyone who wants a decent bet at a price won't get it until a minute or 2 before the start of the race.

What about Betfair at it's best.Back,lay,trade.Win ,place, forecasts etc.Loads of value all over the place. No account closures or restrictions.Still the "greatest thing since sliced bread".

a couple of points to be made :

it hasn't run yet , so it may be market manipulation .
was 5.1 the price it should be ?
in a 100% market , 1 or 2 horses can be backed , which will move the price of others out without people actually laying it thinking it may lose ( bots )

just a thought

What are you all complaining about ? That the market gave you an indication of the horse's possible performance? Why are you complaining?
By:
stridingedge
When: 26 Feb 14 15:31
not sure the trip us an excuse is it

comfortable 2m6f winner in past at course

has sluiced up on heavy over shorter

perhaps they can say the combination ground/trip to blame

but tactics suggest plenty were aware before the race what was going on today

am i complaining or just indicating  they have had it off laying the horse today ?

anyone who thinks differently is hiding head in sand

it didn't affect me but is it right they can do this, to me thats a NO artie.

Did trade slightly shorter in running than at off. Maybe they couldn't lay any more.

The market told you something,and offered a money making opportunity,and you're complaining(indicating).Don't understand !
By:

can you not distinguish between betting and debating artie

i don't want a long pointless argument about it.

you think people close to horses laying them is fine when they know they cant lose, i dont.

lets agree to differ.

"out of these some are never ever intended to win or place, this one a prime example with the most ridiculous tactics employed for the horse."
As you say, doesn't bother me in the least.I'm on here to make money, not to moralise about horse racing, and if market moves help me to do this,so much the better.

Artie, agree wholeheartedly with everything you say.
Unfortunately alot of negative thinkers on here , who dont see a good opportunity when it presents itself.

Maleu - If you can't accept that many things go on behind the scenes that us unconnected punters know nothing about, then you shouldn't ever have a bet.Despite all this , it's still perfectly possible to make long term profits on here.

Its why regulation is required, leave humans to their own devices and bad things occur when money is involved.
Opportunity is good, opportunists arnt.
