Old Site

Hate the new site, they should have just tweeked the old one instead of moving to a new one, think they will close this one down eventually.

The day they close the old site is the day I leave.

Whenever I have a bet accepted,for the past 10 days the old site will Not confirm it,i have to go to the New site for in-running betting(Laying Off)

The new site is embarrassingly poor and it can take ages to actually find out if your bet has been confirmed so much so that you keep trying and eventually find out you have the same bet 3 or 4 times.

Wouldn't dream of trying to use it.

I´m with you 1830. If they switch completely to the new site, the way it is now, I´m off elsewhere.

They probably forked out a fortune to some consultant/IT expert and now,whoever is responsible for the decision, is determined to make it work.

IF - they close the 'Old Site' ... or CURRENT Site -  as it SHOULD be referred to ..... is the day Betfair go out of business.

The fact that they've not deleted the old after all this time says it all

They are going to come out with a stripped down version of the "new" site ... when they get rid of the "old" site

I'm for the old site too; Very odd,(or perhaps just business as usual, for BF) shenanigans going on here.

Despite being a consistent "old site" user, (and only a user of the Football markets about once every five years,)the system regularly takes me to the new site prior to AND sometimes after signing in. When I then click on the old site option, invariably (in the true sense of the word, ie ALWAYS) the system takes me to the football site.

I can think of no reason for this, other than to delay and discourage my attempts to use the old site. I will not be deterred.

Quite agree blackbarn. I just accept it as a niggle put there by some idiot IT/marketing person who thinks they know better.

Same here blackbarn - I always get directed to that bloody football page when I log in to the old site from the new. It's also about the only page on the old site which looks slightly like a page on the new site - therefore trying to deceive and irritate users into going back to the new.

However once you click on a horse racing market you take a big sigh of relief at the quality (as opposed to the incompetent design of the new site).

Anyone else need to click on old site option about 3 times before it actually leaves the new site. It's as if they are trying all they can for people just to stay on the new site

starfish - I get that occasionally, but it used to be worse. There was an interim step that you needed to go through to get back to the old.  Can't remember what it was but I recall it moved as you tried to clicked on it!!!

Perhaps they removed this "tool" because they considered it to be a disingenuous and manipulative tool, unbecoming of a company that proudly and unequivocally puts the customer first. Err - I'll get my wax-jacket

- probably to get NEW visitors - who, of course, will be totally UNAWARE of the 'Old Site' existence - to STAY on the 'New Site' - because ....

The 'New Site' is Defaulted, and heavily geared, towards their SPORTSBOOK.

Shows where their PRIORITIES lie.

New site is impossible to use , trading impossibly slow

Old site is fastest and most user friendly on the net , be suicide to ditch it

I'm on the old site now. Faster, cleaner, easier to navigate. Save that link in your bookmarks/favourites and you'll not have to suffer any more....until of course Betfair buffoons decide to take the old site down.

The new site is a bag of rollocks bit like most of betfairs new improvements like super new poker 2 and new improved poker 3

Surely by now they they are aware that the new site is not liked by their customers.

They ARE - to the point were Betfair have stopped sending out senseless Surveys to 'Members', asking for their 'Usage methods' and opinions on the two sites.

The 'New Site' will stay - because it is designed to appeal to NEW users - specifically aiming them at the Sportsbook, and compulsive gambler 'Games' ... along with it's heavily promoted 'Cash Out' feature ... which is fine for FOOTBALL, and for the 'brain-deads' who cannot work it out for themselves.

However - Horse Racing is FAR MORE sophisticated a PUNTING medium than all of the above - and FAR MORE 'Time Critical', too.... a scenario and methodology for which the 'New Site' is totally inadequate and unreliable.

If the 'Old Site' - or, CURRENT Site, as it SHOULD be called - is ever switched off - then HORSE RACING [b]Turnover/Liquidity will 'fall through the floor'.

most are addicted gamblers on here with nowhere else to go. once the old site goes ur all HAVE to use the new site.

if i was betfair i would ditch the old site and the punters who didnt like the new site would be more likely to use the betfair sportsbook and make them more money.

Onlooker, your last post on the subject summed it up entirely for me, and I suspect most users. The new site is appalling and many users will try purple before subjecting themselves to the new site.

Yomomma - I am staggered that you can have been on here for three years and made that many "contributions", yet still make your first statement.

Re your second statement, words fail me!. I assume you must have made (or are attempting to make) a career in an industry where they had (or have) sufficient controls in place to prevent you from having direct (or even light year distance) contact with an actual customer.

I note that all your comments have been posted on the feedback forum with no response. No doubt they have paid vast sums to get someone to design the new site to improve profits and the last thing the suits wish to do is admit its useless. So we will all have to put up with being directed to it even though its clear we don't want it.

Would love to see the stats, what % choosing to use the new site.

^ Any such - "%" - percentage would be both flawed, and unreliable - AS ...

'New Site' user % percentage would include the 'Newbies' who ONLY use the SPORTSBOOK, and other Exchange users who ONLY play on Football, and other Sports.

The TRUE % Percentage that you/we would want to see is - Usage for Horse RACING.

Its quite obvious that had there been a substantial uptake of the new racing site then this discussion would not be taking place.
The old site would be long gone.
For me Betfair is by far the only place to be so hope commonsense prevails.

But,from recent experience with Racing Post,RUK and many other outfits,common sense is thin on the ground with British manager types.

I do not know anyone in my crowd who use the new site and its not because we are scared of change, its because any change has got to be for the better.
In the horse racing aspect it seems muddled,  and less easy to use.

I had to smile at your comment about British manager types, yes so many have much to    learn.

Old site all the way,every things much easier to use.
Someone maid the comment about the new site,a puppy covered in multi covered paint,rolling all over it.
