Don't care what you say. That was an obvious 'not off' ride from Probert. Hardly got aggressive with it?

I've been watching the game for 40+ years now and that was as obvious as they come.

Shame the 'integrity boys' at the BHA fun house won't spot it though.

No I didn't back it either.

Should've gone to specsavers

gets on my goat when mug odds on backers think that these horses can never be beat, and when they are there is always something or someone to blame.

best horse won!

i agree this trainer balding always gets ons odds stuffed, if he got at it a fraction earlier it would have won , these jockeys have it down to a tee to get beat now by hd or less , this trainer is wrank and given that he is related to queen gives him license to do what he wants . we all remember the ballinger ridge case with fallon and who trained that horse the father balding, the **** was never brought in bout ride where fallon was murdered , fallon rode for him after that ride too so you have to ask questions bout balding, if trainers like this were thrown out of game it would be far healthier, im preaching day day out bout thios trainer stopping favs ans all the apologists knock me

Hello Mick - are your stats on odds-on shots more accurate for Balding that they were for Haggas??  Not sure of the relevance of Ballinger Ridge, given it was not odds on!. Ballingers was trained by Balding jr not his father.
Report mick9694 November 15, 2013 3:15 PM GMT
yeah it was trained by a balding , they are all the same ilk  and fallon rode for him again after that
Report Angel Gabrial November 15, 2013 3:26 PM GMT
Have to say that it was a strange ride from Probert, having seen the race a couple of times.

Had the horse in a perfect position from the off and was even shovelling the coal on the bend with a crack of the whip on the furlong pole and as the horse started responding and bridging the gap, Probert decided moderate hands and heels was the answer.

If i had backed the horse i would be asking why.
Report blackbarn November 15, 2013 3:27 PM GMT
Thanks Mick, so that's one error dealt with.  Shall we move on to the others..

"Balding always gets ons odds stuffed" - Your words! and assuming this means what I think it means. What is your evidence for this statement.

"this trainer is wrank(sic) and is related to the Queen etc". Good one this!, Any evidence base for these statements or are you guessing again.

Utter rubbish from Gay Icon here. Check out the form of Pool House. Beaten fav on his last 3 runs, including at 2/5 and LTO even Hughes couldn't get him home in front. The horse is a bit of a dog/has concentration issues and is quite happy to chase one home. The only surprise is that connections haven't reached for the blinkers for him yet. I'll bet good money they will be on next time out.

Mick - still waiting for your current list of rancid/wrank(sic)trainers?

If you could also let me know what time you intend to drop out of this argument. I wasted a lot of time looking for some kind of contrition from you in the face of the facts relating to Haggas' odds on shots.

Kind regards.

Course you can. The problem is, many of your opinions/accusations seem to be based on little more than thin air, and when you are challenged on them you become abusive.

And I can assure you that I am far from an apologist for the sport and the way it is run.

I've read some stupid threads before however this one is now ludicrous ; Andrew Balding is an honest and straight-forward trainer and it is libelous to suggest he instructs his jockeys to pull the stables' horses.

i've watched it twice and to be honest I think the horse is a tricky ride....i see nothing that would lead me to the conclusion that the horse was pulled however having said that I'm not a huge fan of Probert and the horse might respond better to a stronger jockey.Regardless of the jockey the point i'm making in my earlier post is that Balding is completely straight.

Had the horse in a perfect position from the off and was even shovelling the coal on the bend with a crack of the whip on the furlong pole and as the horse started responding and bridging the gap, Probert decided moderate hands and heels was the answer.

and then another saying:

mick9694 15 Nov 13 14:29
i agree this trainer balding always gets ons odds stuffed, if he got at it a fraction earlier it would have won.....

which just goes to show how 2 people can see the same race in different ways.

Seeing as though the horse was drawn out high and wide in a sprint with an early left hand bend, wouldn't it have been far easier to deliberately miss the break and then either travel out wide all the way or drop in behind runners to not get a run and use those as excuses to get beaten, rather than get out well from a bad draw to gain a good position up with the pace?

For what it's worth my own take on it was that the horse in 2nd for much of the race came wider off the final bend (as show by given the Godolphin runner a run up the inside) and taking it towards Probert's horse, but also when he (Prober) first went for the whip his horse shied away from it and towards the other runner, so he had to slightly pull his horse off of the other runner before then reverting back to using the whip again and gave it around 5 smacks in all.

It's just as well though that none of the jockeys on the winners ease up a little at the line if those on the beaten ones can apparently judge it to a head now despite in this case making up about 3L inside the final half-furlong!

Oh and Andrew Balding allowed Fallon to ride his horses again because he's got a pair of eyes in his head and a brain and knew the Ballinger Ridge ride was nothing more than a monumental human error genuine c0ck up but nothing else.

last 5 years UK Flat, Andrew Balding with odds on chances before today, 31-58 (53.4%) for 9.83 loss (16.9%)

Since 2012, 22-36 (61.1%) for 2.41 loss (6.7%).

And in 2013 only, 11-18 (61.1%) for 0.56 loss (3.1%)

Seems to be improving his strike rate with these short ones.
Report blackbarn November 15, 2013 11:31 PM GMT
ffs Pedro. Giving him proper data means that he'll just move on to another trainer. The same or similar info was given to him re his last crusade on Haggas, before his transition to Balding.
