The Jockey Club and more recently the BHA have been allowing all sorts of chicanery to take place !

So, for example A P gets a six month ban for allegedly ''pulling'' a horse....   what do you think that does for the sport ?.....

It would certainly stop the "Champ" from stopping any for 6 Months!

Of course it will not happen.
After all,they are not called the "Untouchables" for nothing.

Does anyone have any stats or is there a site to view which gives the total number of rides of a NH jockey & the percentage of falls, unseated etc during their career - I am trying to identify whether McCoy has a lower percentage of falls than Ruby Walsh - I don't know if an official site exists but perhaps someone has unofficial data to assist - cheers

McCoy stands at 1.78 m (5'10") which is relatively tall for a jockey. In order to maintain a suitable racing weight, McCoy must keep his weight down to 63.5 kg (10 stone). McCoy's natural weight, based on his physiology, should be about 75 kg (one and a half stone more).[4] McCoy's diet, similar to many jockeys, typically involves a strong mug of sugary tea for breakfast and one slice of toast (depending on the weight requirements for the afternoons racing). Breakfast is often followed by sweating in the bath for one hour. At the races, McCoy's lunch will again involve another cup of tea and a couple of jelly babies. After racing, McCoy eats dinner early to give his food time to digest. His evening meal commonly consists of lean meat or fish. He only eats dinner four times a week. McCoy will sweat for an hour in the bath before bed.

Great diet for 21 years.

Not many people interested in the "where" market.  Only small money there, but Plumpton next Monday or Exeter next Tuesday look obvious choices.  He should pick up the bulk of the remaining 11 during this week (weather permitting) - say a couple at the weekend and the rest must come at those easy meetings.  Even if he has a couple of dry days this week, he could easily ride 3 or 4 at either of those two.

1440 Stratford: Snake Eyes

Held in very high regard by the Nicky Henderson team but still a maiden after three career starts. Irish Cavalier a formidable rival but Snake Eyes looks the sort to show significant improvement at some stage - perhaps starting this afternoon. Forecast price: 11/4

1510 Stratford: Very Stylish

Very in and out and threw in a stinker when last seen at Stratford in July but capable of making his presence felt in this grade on a going day and the form of the Jonjo O'Neill yard is a definite plus. Forecast price: 7/1

1610 Stratford: Bob Keown

Plenty of promise when second in an Irish point-to-point last year and rated a bright prospect by connections but this looks a warm maiden hurdle with a host of unexposed rivals from top yards. Forecast price: 4/1

McCoy remains on the 3,991-winner mark as he heads to Northern Ireland for two rides at Down Royal on Friday.

He will first ride Dear Boss for trainer Arthur Moore in the Allianz Handicap Hurdle, before getting the leg up on the horse he makes the journey for, Jessica Harrington's triple Grade One winner Jezki, in the WKD Hurdle.

The 18-times champion jockey was out of luck on the first of two rides at the Northern Ireland circuit, but made no mistake in the Grade Two WKD Hurdle over two miles.

His task was, however, made pretty easy as Jezki proved a most willing ally.

Jessica Harrington's five-year-old, owned by JP McManus, was a three-times Grade One scorer last season and carried on the good work here.

With no-one keen to make the running, it was left to McCoy to cautiously take the initiative aboard the 2/9 favourite.

It might not have been an ideal scenario, but Jezki jumped with typical efficiency from the outset.

But such was the soporific early pace, it was no surprise to see most of the runners tightly bunched with two flights remaining.

Flaxen Flare even jumped the penultimate hurdle in unison with McCoy's partner, but Harrington's inmate soon blunted that rival's challenge along the home straight.

The Paul Nicholls-trained Caid Du Berlais then charged into contention, but he had no match for Jezki's finishing kick and was comprehensively defeated.

McCoy said: "He's a very smart horse and it's nice to have a horse to have plans with. It was a good start in a muddling race and I was always happy with him."

Harrington said: "I'm absolutely delighted to get that out of the way. There was no pace and he had to do his own donkey work. He did it without much effort and he settled very well. He's grown up and Tony rode him out with hands and heels.

"The Morgiana Hurdle (Punchestown, November 17) is definitely an option because he needs match practice if he is going to take on Hurricane Fly and Our Conor.

"It was his first run of the season so he's bound to improve. He'll improve purely in a fast-run race. He answered every call."

Sky Bet reacted by cutting the winner by two points into 8/1 for the StanJames Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in March.

It was an especially good day for the County Kildare handler as stablemate Gambling Girl (11/4) overcame a final-flight gaffe to claim Grade Three honours in the EBF Lough Construction Ltd Mares Novice Hurdle.

Harrington said: "I think she could be special. She made a bad mistake and went away again. She went long at the last and when she recovered, she went away from the second.

"She did a couple of very good pieces of work and she is a big mare so she'll only improve. The owners bred her so now she has got them black type.
