Perhaps perhaps something to bear in mind for the future?
Massive post mortem by connections on Rime Avec Gentil who was clearly 'expected'. Someone definitely had a bag at 4s which might have something to do with it (know for sure as I was standing patiently in line in the rain behind him while the bet was being confirmed - wonder why it was taking some time?).
By the way, trainer stated more than once he was pleased with the run. I thought it was an interesting remark as I make them a shrewd stable?
Informative post..................But if you read & understand the form............this is a dog............running on again yesterday once all was over........maybe try a bit of money if the head gear goes on (tried P once)..........I wouldent get "handcuffed" to it..........

Paul Moloney, the rider of RIME AVEC GENTIL (FR), placed fourth, reported that the gelding hung badly left over the final mile. The Stewards ordered RIME AVEC GENTIL (FR) to be routine tested.
My view is that he hit the first fence going away from the stands and didn't fancy the jumping after that. Not many make the switch from hurdles to fences after that many runs over hurdles and at that age.

Agree similar runs were in the formbook but don't recall that was with moloney up. Interesting that he still rode a finish though - suggesting he had an idea of what was to come. Wasn't mr happy when he left the parade ring for sure.

Horse has always been a bit iffy has it not? I've often wondered what would happen if they went off in front with it.
I backed it early @ 8/1 (with a rule 4 of about 20p); thought it went from travelling supremely well to struggling in strides - an exaggeration of what has happened in previous runs - and then consents to run on all too late.
Not one for a coup I think; too unreliable.
Not sure Moloney is the best jock for it either.
It'll win again no doubt; predicting when likely to be tricky!
