one revealing bit of info. "THE MARKETING FEE" was never meant to market bookmakers just general admission so was added to narmal marketing pool.
jockey club had to do there own ew terms as bookmaking organisations kept missing deadlines and they were restricted by contracts.

the point to point retirement scheme wasn't clearly explained as it has been carefully costed over the next five years and fully supported by the whole board.
the downside being a small extra daily charge
the upside being a small retirement pot , move ups for all on the lists , some reduction in bookmaker list numbers , no tatts bookmakers turning up renting pitches in front of you for example

and with steve clare in attendance , the subject of those floor votes mentioned will be reported to all racecourse groups this morning.

And your consumption was ? I trust it did not impair your input or understanding of what was being discussed. How did you rate the meeting 'waste of time' 'productive' 'thought provoking with a view to future initiatives being made to improve matters' or something else ? Or does your lofty position in this august body prevent you from answering ? Wink

Perhaps they should have asked the floor how they felt as a profession that out of 80+ books at Donny on Saturday only 8 were betting traditional places on the Portland......... now I don't know what the % win & place book looked like......  and this was read out by Tanya on CH4 and followed with 'come on lads ridiculous' or words similar........

How many people will be watching that and possibly will go racing over the next month 6 months a year.......... Fred in his shops tells any punters going racing that day to bet in his shops cos they will be ripped off by Chesterbet at the tracks..... don't think he implicates Racecourse bookies as yet.......

Self Destruct or what.........................
