Shades of Moviesta (at Goodwood) there from Mulrennan, just direct one's mount across the track to take the opposition out

It's quite close to the finish, but his mount is already going to its left when PM decides to give it another smack with the whip in the right hand just prior to hampering the second.

Poor by RUK.

By:
ive backed it to keep the race, but the momentum was with the 2nd,

the guidelines state that the longer the SE goes on, the more likely the result should be allowed to stand
![]() And of course for whatever reason the 'offender' is given the benefit of the doubt ![]() |

the SE is for the winner.

He got away with it on Moviesta at Goodwood(G2, £50K), but his luck just ran out at Beverley.
2 DQs in 3 days the bookie chappies won't be happy with that 'concession' they usually only pay out on rarely! |

Cant believe this. I put £30 on Fair Flutter in error at 20s.
Loses. Gets turned round. Cant believe my luck. ![]() |

Couldn't definitely say the 2nd would have won. Not consistent with other decisions imo.

By:
what the hell, 2nd won??

RUK studio - why would they appeal?
Jockey fails to keep his mount straight / helps his mount on its way to its left where it hampers the second before holding on grimly by a sh hd? Anyone know how many days Mulrennan got? |

6.40, fifth race
The Stewards held an enquiry under Rule (B)11.6 into possible interference shortly before the line. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that the winner, OCEAN STORM (IRE), ridden by Paul Mulrennan, had interfered with FAIR FLUTTER (IRE), placed second, ridden by Patrick Mathers, and that the interference had improved OCEAN STORM (IRE)’s placing. They placed FAIR FLUTTER (IRE), first, and OCEAN STORM (IRE), second. The Stewards found Mulrennan in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he had allowed his horse to drift left causing interference. They suspended him for 1 day as follows: Tuesday 24 September 2013. |

This was the stewards verdict after Mulrennan's ride on Moviesta at Goodwood -
They found Mulrennan in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he had allowed his mount to drift continuously left away from the whip without taking corrective action. They suspended him for 6 days as follows: Friday 16, Saturday 17, Sunday 18, Monday 19, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 August 2013. Perhaps they need a stronger deterrant cuz he was at it again this evening... |
