Trainer was - Walter Nightingall - at Epsom -

- as were a lot of Winston's horses trained by.
---------------

Won Stewards' Cup - at 25/1 -  by a Neck - getting up in the final strides - from Deer Leap -
St Elmo 3rd - Syrinx 4th.

The Going was HARD

TUDOR MONARCH - had run 4 times previously that season - as a 4-yr-old
He had finished 2nd on his second run, on Firm ground - before starting second fav for the Wokingham Handicap, at Royal Ascot - where he finished 4th.

TUDOR MONARCH - was sired by Champion Sprinter ABERNANT  - out of Madonna, who was a Donatello II mare.

He never ran as a 2-yr-old -

Ran 10 times as a 3-yr-old - winning on his second outing, over 7 furlongs, on Firm ground - third 3 times - then 2nd on his final three outings, sprinting, the last two outings, conversely, being on Heavy ground.

TUDOR MONARCH - never ran again after that STEWARDS' CUP success.

Sold to the Veterinary Bloodstock Agency - at the Newmarket October Sales, for 1,450 Guineas.
