The VENDOR - obviously 'bought it back' - failed RESERVE = Euros 170,000
Surely Gleeson did not shell out anything like that for it. -------------- The VENDOR was .... FLAT HOUSE STUD. Perhaps - the likes of ... Cork Langer workrider wildman may be able to shed some light on the above. |

probably only owns a leg just running in his colours?

Knowing how frugal Mr Gleeson is, very much doubt he actually contributed any outlay, runs in his name, deal will have been financed by some "silent" partners who are happy for BG to be the man whose name appears on all papers and handles any questions, would be my take on the matter

Looks like they bought it back in, and they were in to it for at least £170k, didn't make that.
As it's a Galileo and he's down as breeding it too, most probably a syndicate. As stallion fee is 150k plus. looks like they av decided to race it themselves. They av also bought in the 2yo colt by Galileo for 140k. Doubt if Gleeson has 300k for stallion fee. Most likely scenario, hth. |

Glesson is from a very wealthy background in Waterford and is well in with the crew in Tipp. He did breed the horse and has had good success at the sales, a recent Yates colt springs to mind that got over 100k his missus and him also bred and sold Go All The Way for 300k plus at the sales recently which I'm fairly sure was a NH record here.

Thank you - and, Yes - Note that Go All The Way ran in Claire Gleeson's name - for it's 3 Bumper runs - before being bought by the Potts.

The Irish Bookies overround...
Feck me you could get 30 sumo wrestlers in any Irish ring and the overround would be less.. |

Remember out in Leopardstown the Christmas before last, was collecting a docket for a mate in the shop inside and there was a huge amount of people inside. I finally make it to the counter and there's Gleeson standing there with his RP spread across the counter. I asked him if he minded moving as people were trying to get to the counter. He just looked at me in a 'do you know who I am' way and said nothing. So I just shoved my way up passed him. I did day to him on leaving something to the effect that for someone who would talk for 5 mins on TV when asked the time it was odd to see him keep his mouth shut.

Family are estate agents/auctioneers.
Met him about 15 years ago in Aintree-had very little to say for himself-got the impression the more money you have the more he would speak. Odds against this thread survives until 7 o' clock. |

Probably says a lot about the forum these days.Back in the good old days one Saturday night there was a thread ridiculing a certain bookmaker-two weeks later I received legal papers from a prestigious Irish legal firm alleging libel. The person involved got the smell of money and went for blood.

If they could get there hands on Kevin O,Ryan they would have more James Hunts than a West End knocking shop.

Brian Gleeson? Whenever he is on I'd change channel because if one listens to his suggestion/advice on betting especially the Irish horses owned and/or trained by Mullins, Mcmanus, O'brien, Ballydoyle, etc, one would be broke by now, for sure. I think he is the mouthpiece for Irish Racing betting, and usually WRONG!
