Same as the weekend here. I'm now hoping for a slight pause as that gives a stable picture.

Hi guys - Virgin Media - I'm finding yes there are slight pauses but they are few and far between,  don't have to keep refreshing , picture quality better and speed fractionally, fractionally faster.  Not ideal yet but considering the problems of the last 3 months it's not bad in comparison. I'm hopeful. \

The pauses aren't complete stops are they. It just feels like the picture just stopped for a millisecond while the camera angle changed or something. Maybe yours is worse?

Maybe pausing isn't the best way of putting it. It is like watching on a old style projector, constantly flickering.

completely disrupts the viewing of a horses action for me , you know how quickly they can change shape, suppose it depends how you bet.

speed has improved but i'd go back to the old speed and have a fluid picture in a heartbeat but even then there were so many other issues

Wonder what the technical reasons are for not being able to have these speeds without the pausing/flickering.

Baffled as to how slowing the pictures down half a second makes them rum smoother

It defintely seemed worse at the Curragh yesterday with them going a bit faster on the flat. Either Stratford or Newton Abbot (can't remember which) was better than the other.

Just to compare flat v flat I watched the last at Windsor and it didn't seem as bad as the Curragh.

It's quite understandable that there is a relationship between speed vs quality, I suspect its the result of diminished buffering.

If you watch a clip on YouTube that is streaming then the closer to the 'edge' of what has 'downloaded' to the device you are the jerkier the result, build up a buffer and the product runs smoother, but to gain a buffer you need a delay.

I have sympathy with this issue, but the delivery method chosen by bf means the user has no control over the speed/quality equation....it is possible to avoid this problem by having the user be able to change things.

Is it a contractural restriction imposed on bf or is it bf doing the choosing how the product gets delivered (for eg, bf limit the size of the video where as others don't)

Southwell perfect there - what are you using? I often find it's a lot worse when the PC overheats . I've got a fan on it now in addition to it's built in fan. Probably means nothing but I find it does help.
