Have great BF LV speed here and the very slightest of stutter .. very playable
By:
just back on LV after 2 days off....seems very hard to use.....speed obviously better... but very hard so see how horses are travelling
By:
awful

Fine here - have to say it's probably as good as it's ever been. You must be unlucky broadsword - what's your set-up?
By:
isp .....bt..............bilbo , you saying your pics havent deteriorated since its quickened up?
By:
Same as the weekend here. I'm now hoping for a slight pause as that gives a stable picture.
By:
bilbo?
By:
I must be unlucky as well then broadsword as mines is pausing as well.
By:
cheers sac....nice to know its not just here ..... wont be able to use it here until the quality improves
By:
played 3 races tonight so far
all still dragging and pausing as yesterday what you using there Bilbo ? |
By:
Hi guys - Virgin Media - I'm finding yes there are slight pauses but they are few and far between, don't have to keep refreshing , picture quality better and speed fractionally, fractionally faster. Not ideal yet but considering the problems of the last 3 months it's not bad in comparison. I'm hopeful. \
The pauses aren't complete stops are they. It just feels like the picture just stopped for a millisecond while the camera angle changed or something. Maybe yours is worse? |
By:
Maybe pausing isn't the best way of putting it. It is like watching on a old style projector, constantly flickering.
By:
completely disrupts the viewing of a horses action for me , you know how quickly they can change shape, suppose it depends how you bet.
speed has improved but i'd go back to the old speed and have a fluid picture in a heartbeat but even then there were so many other issues |
By:
what browser Bilbo ?
By:
what browser Bilbo ?
By:
Wonder what the technical reasons are for not being able to have these speeds without the pausing/flickering.
Baffled as to how slowing the pictures down half a second makes them rum smoother |
By:
run*
By:
same here john92....very hard to tell how the horses are travelling
By:
it doesn't star , we still had those probs when it was slower
does seem people are getting widely differing experience again though |
By:
It defintely seemed worse at the Curragh yesterday with them going a bit faster on the flat. Either Stratford or Newton Abbot (can't remember which) was better than the other.
Just to compare flat v flat I watched the last at Windsor and it didn't seem as bad as the Curragh. |

It's quite understandable that there is a relationship between speed vs quality, I suspect its the result of diminished buffering.
If you watch a clip on YouTube that is streaming then the closer to the 'edge' of what has 'downloaded' to the device you are the jerkier the result, build up a buffer and the product runs smoother, but to gain a buffer you need a delay. I have sympathy with this issue, but the delivery method chosen by bf means the user has no control over the speed/quality equation....it is possible to avoid this problem by having the user be able to change things. Is it a contractural restriction imposed on bf or is it bf doing the choosing how the product gets delivered (for eg, bf limit the size of the video where as others don't) |

Sorry - wasn't here last night clouded - I've got a MAc so generally use Safari - Firefox is slightly more buggy.

Dreadful at southwell to me, like a pixelated projector stream, terrible, unwatchable
By:
i cant even watch a single ****
By:
cheers bilbo
roo ? i've just witnessed an almost perfect stream right there at suvvel , 1st time in days ! if only it was like that all the time seems again maybe some difference elsewhere though ![]() |
By:
it was a little bit sticky here but 4.9s ahead of atr
By:
Southwell perfect there - what are you using? I often find it's a lot worse when the PC overheats . I've got a fan on it now in addition to it's built in fan. Probably means nothing but I find it does help.
By:
roo that is.
By:
i watch daq video which is the same but its like a projected image, unwatchable.
