Amazing stick reading there.
There really ought to be an enquiry into these stick readings because they were racing on 11+ two years back, is it broken or does it need re-calibrating?
These readings are becoming worthless at any rate......

Anyone expecting this to alter or someone to actually ask serious questions of this in high places forget it, the whole running of this game is in the hands of complete gravy train riding backslappers who have zero interest in promoting this sport as a decent gambling medium, they all like the salary & the car too much....

I fear you are correct jonjo nothing will change now,you either put up with it or get out, shouldn't be that way but sadly it is.Cry

g2d,yeah did think about it, but to be honest how many will post on it,apathy appears to have set in,have put up a few threads about drugs in horseracing that would've had this forum bouncing off the walls a few yrs back, one managed to get around 100 posts but most were minePlain

beyond a joke. have a good covering of grass but keep the ground on the fast side if that is how nature intended it.
By:

When: 19 Jul 13 23:38
ayr was on last week and before the races started it was good to firm which they all seem to be now, yet they told you it was watered , then he said heavily watered, and the times showed it was not as fast as should be looked like good ground watching it and times franked that, so quiet simply they are now ruining horse racing in summer to natural ground dosnt exsist why bother with  long time form logs when this is happening.shocking
By:

Not really arguing about the state of the ground but the going stick reading of 6.7 cannot be right on good to firm going, the stick is goosed imoCrazy
By:
Outpost
When: 20 Jul 13 11:06
doesn't matter any more what the stick says or what the going really is.

CoCs just automatically give the going as good to firm as that's now the standard pronouncement.
By:
GoBallistic
When: 20 Jul 13 11:37
Depends if good to firm is the assessment when the going stick reading is taken or whether it's the assessment for when racing starts.  I think it would make some sense to assume no change in weather and say what the track will be when racing starts - clearly it's going to get firmer than the most recent going stick reading.  As long as everyone understands that's the way it's being done of course ...
