he's bred to be a turf horse, whatever happened anywhere else was a bonus, getting no run and still finishing ahead of at the time the 2nd highest rated horse in world excelebration in breeders cup turf mile is more than enough form to win rag race tomorrow. The thought behind the trainer running on turf at a breeders cup said enough. He was odds on a few weeks ago when he possibly had a danger. Now he's a similar if not better price without the godolphin horse. there is no concern unless the going changes. His stats in defeat mount to far more than the form of the opposition in their defeats or are they unbeaten?
Report 3setpoints June 17, 2013 10:24 PM BST

Report ReaseHeath June 17, 2013 10:30 PM BST
Godolphin horse = Farhh

He was n't odds on, they were vying for favouritism at 5/2, 11/4.

How would he be odds on with Farhh in the race?...some people make it up as they go along.
Report judorick June 17, 2013 10:34 PM BST
it is a totally different examination to anything he has faced before :

straight track
undulations
watered going

compared to flat left handed ovals with sharp turns, no telling how he will handle it really
Report baNjackst June 17, 2013 10:37 PM BST
Farrh was 2nd favourite for this race prior to injury, surely you are aware of that, he won easily and would have made me less bullish, he trounced most of tomorrows runners.

If he won two turf races and one of them was a breeders cup turf race over a mile would you be convinced. Well he should have and would have with a clear run, and that was a proper race with decent horses. I'm a backer I've given my reason and if the forecast layers can come up with any reason why or who can defeat the horse, speak up. Put it out there.

Report ReaseHeath June 17, 2013 10:52 PM BST
the facts are Animal Kingdom and Farhh were vying for favouritism in the Queen Anne until Farhh was declared lame and out of Royal Ascot.

You stated above that 'He was odds on a few weeks ago when he possibly had a danger.' I'm saying he was n't odds on. He was 5/2 or 11/4.

Farhh would probably have been shorter but for the school of thought which suggested that Sheik Mo would target Prince of Wales with Farhh because he has 29% share in Animal Kingdom and would not want them racing each other.

What part of the statement 'He was odds on a few weeks ago when he possibly had a danger.' is true?

Hasn't won or raced rh. Has beaten Excelebration, good yardstick, unlike any of these.10 1b clear on ratings at level weights. However there is a possibility he finds trouble IR and he has had a serious leg injury. Back to lay AK IR, he is sure to trade shorter, 1.6 maybe not to get too greedy. Can't be backing Elusive Kate, has ran well behind some good horses but winning in a scrappy race might be a different deal.DOW still 3rd fav, maybe the stable expect him to bounce back, not for me.

Report Shiekh Me Hand June 17, 2013 11:56 PM BST
Forget about AK's turf race prior to the Kentucky Derby, He was a young horse still learning the game, Let's concentrate on his more recent turf form.
Beaten by Wise Dan in the Breeders Cup Mile, too many an observer, he was given a poor ride by Rafael Bejarano- Whilst I am not saying that he would have beaten the monster that is WISE DAN - he would certainly have been closer, anybody see any of the horses behind him that day?? Excelebration and Moonlight Cloud.... Fantastic piece of form.

Then on his return this year, beaten by POINT OF ENTRY (US top older turf horse) P.O.E won last week but unfortunatley suffered what may be a career ending injury- Point of Entry had previously come 2nd in the B/Cup turf - (under a poor ride also...this time from Jonny Val) behind Point of Entry that day ...St Nicholas Abbey and Shareta.

When POE beat AK this year, it was a farce of a race, AK went for home a LONG way out and was outstayed by POE ... Behind them is a horse that will rate highly this year - Unbridled Command.

Animal Kingdom reeks of TOP CLASS. .... Absolute Top Class. ... Johnny Val is one of the top turf riders in the U.S and a man for the big occasion...

when I bet big I want everything in my favour if it is short odds

and let me tell you, everything is most definitely not in Animal Kingdom's favour here

yes the BC form looks exceptional but how does that run on a left hand flat, firm American track have any relation to running on the straight track on watered going at Ascot? It is a leap of faith that he will transfer the apparent superiority to the race tomorrow and he may well do so but I am not surprised he has drifted from 1.84 to 2.02 hitting 2.16 on the way

definitely think there will be better evens shots to be had without the question marks
Report Shiekh Me Hand June 18, 2013 12:10 AM BST
Take a close look at the breeding of Animal Kingdom, the fact that he won a Kentucky Derby is unbelieveable, all his breeding points to turf racing.

Sired by multiple graded turf winner - Leroidsenameaux (Spell check!) - the dam DALICIA (GER)sired by Acatenango and grandfather is no other than Dancing Brave...

Wants Turf as much as I want more money in my account to LUMP ON !! Excited

Gotta love this game, times like this that make a man or mouse off ya !!

appreciate the Breeders Cup form but you've also got to factor in that Excelebration (particularly) and Moonlight Cloud had travelled 8 or 9 time zones at the end of the European flat season. Excelebration had won the Champions mile only two weeks previously and the ground in California would have been plenty quick enough for him.
Report ReaseHeath June 18, 2013 12:29 AM BST

fair point - you're probably relying on some of the 4yos improving, Elusive Kate looks like she's been laid out for the race, I would n't be surprised if Trade Storm won or Sovereign Debt but agree a leap of faith is involved to a certain extent.

Interesting that AK went off at 14/1 in the Breeders Cup race, then got turned over at odds on before beating the likes of Red Cadeaux, Planteur(!), Side Glance, Treasure Beach(!) and Hunter's Light in Meydan.

It's all about opinions - just AK far too short for me based on all the imponderables. That's me off the fence, I think.

Won on Turf 8 1/2F, from a bad bunch-came from last to challenge at the 6 1/2F Pole.

Breeders Cup 8 F Turf, "8th and trapped in pocket on rail from under 2f out, gap appeared approaching final 110yds, quickened well between horses to grab second close home, never on terms with winner" not a great ride from R.Bejerano.
The winner - Wise Dan has Won 11 from his last 13 and 6 were Grade 1 races.

Gulfstream Turf 9 F, "Held up in touch in last pair, rapid headway to dispute lead over 4f out, ridden to lead on turn into straight, strongly pressed and headed entering final furlong, kept on but readily held by winner" not a great ride from J.Rosario.
The winner - Point of Entry has Won 7 from his last 8 and 5 were Grade 1 races.

When A.K. Won The Kentucky Derby 10 F, he came from Tenth position,
When he was Btn 1/2L in the Preaknes 10 F, he also came from Tenth Position.

He does Not need to be held up so far,in fact on Turf,he has had the pace to be disputing the lead at the 6 - 7 F Pole.
