I think Big Mac was right when he advocated long term bans in the years

The day to day racing has no credibility now. Even people who bet on it and make money realise the game is in a shocking state.
By:
Must admit my patience is waring thin at the moment, things do seem to be out of control all round and the gamble on Planetoid was really taking the p i s s,literally in the face of the BHA

That complete piss take at newton abbot today was just a joke, they think they are clever too, thats whats laughable
By:
if you could name a yard where this wouldnt happen for a long time after bergin at haydock it would be this yard,up and coming trainer been let down by his jockeys,o,mera should bite the bullet and set the trend by stating they wont ride for him again
By:
i done my dough on this horse when it was stopped at newcastle ist time out ,again next time when obviously well backed and no value and done it again tonight,i,m certainly losing interest

10 days means f-all....
laughable. |
By:
10 days is simply a slap in the face to anyone who wasted their time/money picking this horse out & backing it........
Some gawp actually emailed ATR saying 'people make mistakes, footballers miss open goals etc' What he doesnt realise is that no footballer missed an open goal 'on purpose'........these jockeys are deliberately & wilfully easing off, it's not a mistake, it's unprofessional & it's even more unprofessional of the local stewards to be so f***ing stupid that they "cannot be certain the horse would have won" Absolute p!ss take & it's getting worse by the day under Bittar who wont answer constructive tweets, but prefers to waffle on about what a good film Anchorman is......WAFPC |
By:
everyone was thinking Bittar might make some positive changes.
Now we all know, he doesn't want to rock the boat. |
By:
As i said at the time, he's an old boy so why should he..
By:
Bittar is old?

Bittar is old? ------------- He means that BITTAR haw worked for the BHA BEFORE, a few years ago. |

Agree with everything that's been said on this thread, the sport is in a shocking state regards cheating, non triers/improvers. The journos and commentators don't help matters by constantly making excuses for the blatant poor rides/results/performances day in day out. No wonder turnover on horse racing is on the way down, while sports betting is on the way up, absolutely no integrity in horse racing anymore, except possibly in group races, though even those trainers go well hooky with the lesser lights in their stables.

that 2.45 race at Leicester on Monday? the Philip Prince ride on the willie McKay owned Charles Smith trained COASTAL PASSAGE told u all u need to know about the current flat racing scene absofeckinlutely RANCID my friends.
![]() |
By:
just watched the coastal passage race, that is actually rancid, as you say.
By:
best to avoid the bendy low class racing & stick with the racing at the top courses imo
By:
Cade you are not wrong but has it always been like this or is it getting worse, seems to be a major incident every day atm.
By:
Amazingly, all the "bleaters" will continue to bet.
Nothing new happened. |
By:
i will bet as per normal in decent races and not low grade stuff and you're right nothing new has happened, but that doesn't make it right in anyway, nothing wrong in a gamble just the way it's conducted .
By:
It's NO worse nowadays than 20 yeqrs ago. The only difference now is that we can all see the races on TV. Years ago it was over the old blower and no one apart from people on the track would see what was going on.
By:
my attitude to the game has totally changed......when i see one of my selections drift like a barge, i usually dont back it now and THEY NEVER WIN...........its ok when one drifts from say 4/1 to 11/2..........but when u see it kick out further by a point every 30 seconds, u know it wont win. flirtinaskirt was one such today. drifted to 5/1 at the off...........im not saying it was pulled, maybe it is just not that good, but when i saw that massive drift, i said no way hoosay.........and it couldnt move out of its own way.
By:
agreed the game's in a fookin state - coastal passage on monday at leicester was a joke, nolan tonight was even worse......takin' punters for mugs time and time again and fook all happens.........next race lads!
By:
Most punters on here are "mugs",Yorkie!
By:
you're probably right!
By:
yeah that cufflink done the same today, ended up place laying it, total non trier
By:
All except you Racingstar. Mr Chippie

I have backed my share of "Not Offs",trente trois.
By:
The Racing Authorities treat your average punter with complete contempt. The majority of the Racing Media are unwilling to ask anything resembling an "awkward" question for fear of upsetting the people they are faced with every day at the courses, and as a rule I would say most of Trainers/Jockeys are loath to say anything of note either in print or on camera to reading/watching punters apart from the same old predictable sound bitesz we've all heard a thousand times before.
I fully accept the fact racehorses aren't "machines" ,but some of the stunts that are pulled and the explanations given afterwards are laughable at best, as are some of the punishements meted out by the Authorities. |
By:
Racingstar reports " nothing new happened" .......oh that's alright then we can all relax in the knowledge that the racing game is gash.
I hope he's not right when he says with some authority "the bleaters will continue to bet" as if we're all lemmings heading inexorably to the cliff edge.. Well Racingstar i've news for u this is one bleater who is betting less and less on Horse Racing cos i've seen the light, and have more belief in my fellow man than you. Forget about fobts but i would guess year on year Horse Racing is playing less of a part in the revenues of the major bookmaking companies and in return these companies will be more and more careful about the monies they put back into Horse Racing. Horse Racing authorities need to clean up their act and become a leaner, fitter and less rancid entity if it's going to prosper in the years ahead and not go the way of the dinosaur! |
By:
Plenty of what is happening is tantamount to criminality and it seems that the racing authorities have simply given up trying to police it.
By:
Well the racing authorities need to waken up Captain cos i look around a lot of the forums and read of plenty that have given up on British racing and look at the bookies these days too many of them and empty most of the time except for FOBT addicts.
Times are a changing. |
By:
the authorities need to give proper bans. this is the issue. coastal passages jock was found not to be trying. he gets 12 days. it should be 6 mths. same today with that clown on petrol. should be 6 mths.
By:
Ive been punting my whole life, and Ive had a fair turnover on here for nearly a decade and have watched tens of thousands of races during that time. In regards the integrity of the racing these days and in recent years is that it has never been worse, that's a fact whether people have the stomach for it or not. I don't know why racing has become so blatantly corrupt, but I suspect stagnating or lowered prize money has a lot to do with it, along with the poor global economy.
By:
grab what you can while you can , pretty soon £10 will start a gamble on here on racing
By:
Bdj and basil there are a lot of unhappy forumites at the moment we need to see some more punitive measures put in place for the kind of race riding we've seen over the past couple of days and the media need to play a bigger part in this and make much more noise when this nonsense happens for the long term health of the sport imo.
By:
You could stop all this with a Tote Monopoly and getting ride of handicaps.
But is that what we want? |
