I see they have dropped the "forthright" from the column description.

Its harmless enough stuff and a fair light read, but it was never going to be forthright from a journalist who works for so many racing platforms with their various interests, namely C4, RUK, Sportinglife, Turf TV, Timeform Radio, Coral and Betfair etc.

And therein lies the problems of the lack of hard-hitting coverage of horseracing generally, I suppose.

It is a 'conflict of interest'.

If your in business in a senior position and your company sub-contracts work to a company where you have relatives in a senior position you have to declare this and you wouldn't be allowed to be invloved in any of the sub-contract process.

The number of issued between punters / bookmakers should be investigated and reported, this doesn't happen because of the conflicts of interest within the industry.
