Taranis - Grim scenes

absolutely disgusting that a horse who did so much in its day loses its life in a mickey mouse race ridden by a clueless amateur

Very sad news regarding Taranis.  Commiserations to everyone connected with the horse.  R.I.P.

Sad loss, but sadly it happens.  I do not know Miss Alice Mills but even a cursory inspection of her riding record renders "clueless amateur" a hasty and ill-informed judgement on her abilities.

Alice is not clueless or a hooray, far from it..


she is just an ordinary girl, trying her best, no way a hooray and is a good rider who will be upset as anyone as too the final outcome...

Jontyblade - I totally share your view on grand old horses, even though we might disagree about the Cheltenham Hunter Meeting being "mickey mouse".

My criticism of you has nothing to do with tipping or gambling, just your dismissal of one of the current top ten lady PTP jockeys as a "clueless amateur". Then descending to a class cliche doesn't really help your cause. She appears to have been riding under rules for over 5 years and has ridden winners over the jumps and on the flat.

the hunter chase scene has an abundance of former classy horses now running at a lower level,been happening for ever...fatalitys happen ever day so get over it...i dont suppose the connections will be elated its died either will they?

Anyone who has read her blog will see how upset she is over horses dying. Must be a decent jockey to win on that most unreliable of horses tayarat at 100-1.
