If you own, or have a mortgage, on your home, is your spouse's name also on the house deeds and/or mortgage?
Reason I'm asking is that I've just watched Sharia Courts on iPlayer and I was suprised to know that under an Islamic marriage (not recognised as a marriage in British law) the wife has no entitlement to any community property.

I'm not married but my partner, (female) who is also the mother of our daughter, does appear on the house deeds as joint owner. She wasn't at first mind (19 years ago) because she moved into my place but when we moved into a different house (after the bairn was born) it seemed the thing to do.
Not that it matters much imo under our laws because if there was a break-up the courts would decide on the assets

true swift-tuttle, but "our courts" don't get involved when an Islamic marriage breaks up... the sharia courts deal with it all. No prizes for guessing how they divide things - terrifying to think that if the husband dies before his (Islamic wife) the house won't even pass to her.

Rape
According to the sunnah, a woman should not be punished for having been coerced into having sex .[66] This attitude towards rape is discussed in the following hadith:
During the time of Muhammad, punishment was inflicted on the rapist on the solitary evidence of the woman who was raped by him. Wa'il ibn Hujr reports of an incident when a woman was raped. Later, when some people came by, she identified and accused the man of raping her. They seized him and brought him to Allah's messenger, who said to the woman, "Go away, for Allâh has forgiven you," but of the man who had raped her, he said, "Stone him to death." (Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud).[67] According to a Sunni hadith, the punishment for committing rape is death, there is no blame attached to the victim.[68][69]
According to Al-Mawardi, an 11th century specialist in Islamic jurisprudence (sharia), if either the victim or a witness kills the perpetrator of rape during the crime, in order to prevent furthering the violence of the act, the killing is permissible and is exempt from the laws of murder and killing.[70]
However right now it is far from uncommon for a woman who raises claims of rape to be not only denied justice, but to be charged as a criminal herself for committing fornication or adultery.[71][72]

I think religion is an abomination - doesn't matter which flavour, it's all about control and segregation.

But theyre spouting it over here and getting rights as well . How on earth can they adjust to the English way of life when they view women in this way .

but they don't want to adjust to an "English way of life" do they. Look at that little girl who was shot and paralysed, her parents had already been in the country for five years and they still hadn't bothered to speak English - that's not wanting to integrate.
When people hear multi-cultural they seem to think it means people from other cultures coming here and adopting our traditional culture... whereas what it actually means is that you have vastly differing cultures with all the problems that brings.

Same as they are allowed to kill animals outside slaughter houses and nothing is done about it?
